Anthem, the upcoming Destiny-esque sci-fi behemoth from Mass Effect developer BioWare, will be released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in March 2019, publisher Electronic Arts has said.

The industry giant confirmed the news during its earnings call overnight, with Blake Jorgensen revealing Anthem 'will be shipped in the last quarter of the year and in the last month of that quarter.'

That's March in case you wondered, which means that the game will be hitting shelves just in time to contribute to EA's current financial year, presumably by making a ton of cash. Well, uh, that's unless it flops hard, but the chances of that happening are slim; the publisher is being a bit more conservative this time around in terms of projected sales.

From the sound of things, Anthem is a game that will probably have a lot of long-term appeal (like Destiny) and will likely be supported by new content drops over time (again, like Destiny).

'We're very excited about the game,' said Jorgensen. 'It's extremely unique, and I think players are going to really enjoy playing it, but we're careful not to put too large of a forecast in there. And clearly, it will impact this year as well as next year as we not only continue to sell more into the next year but start rolling out the live services associated with that game.'

Anthem was previously delayed from its original late 2018 launch window and into early next year, though at the time it wasn't known exactly when the game would hit stores. Expect more info at E3 next month.
