Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now available on Xbox One's backwards compatibility lineup, Major Nelson has confirmed on Twitter.

The first-person military shooter, which stars that bloke who played Don Beach in The Bill and a protagonist named after a popular cleansing product, was originally released on PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 in November 2011.

Oddly enough, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has yet to be released on Xbox One backwards compatibility. Maybe because the game is meant to be getting remastered? Who knows.

Anyway, you know the score by now. If you've still got a copy of Modern Warfare 3 lying around somewhere, you can insert the disc and fire up the game on Xbox One now. If you have a digital version, head to the Ready to Download section of the console's menu to grab it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 can also be purchased on the Xbox Store for 12 quid, as it's currently part of a 50% discount for Xbox Live Gold members.

In related news, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is due out on October 12 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
