The release date and time for when Alan Wake 2 new game plus Final Draft will come out is 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET/ 6 PM GMT on December 11th. This is confirmed by the official blog post from Remedy Entertainment about the Final Draft. Provided you already own AW2, all you will need to do is download an update once the launch time passes.
Aside from just carrying over your unlocked weapons and upgrades, the Final Draft brings some new content and additions. The biggest addition is a new ending that plays into the spiral motif, but there’s also a new difficulty mode called Nightmare. This is for players who feel especially daring. Enemies will be stronger and smarter, and you will need to utilize all of your wits to survive the terror especially when exploring frightening hotspots of horror such as the woods and the Oceanview hotel.
In addition to a new ending and fresh difficulty mode, there will be new manuscripts to read and new videos to watch. These will add even more lore to the world, and they will most probably play into the revelation revealed at the end of the base game. If you truly want to finish the story of AW2, then it is imperative you complete new game plus as it’s evidently a lot more than just weapons and gear carrying over to a new save.
