We’ve got our first look at gameplay in a new trailer for A Plague Tale: Requiem ahead of the sequel’s release next year.

Once more you’ll be following the journey of brother-sister duo Amicia and Hugo from A Plague Tale: Innocence. After escaping their rat-infested homeland in the previous game, they’re now heading south to try and make home in a new region.

Here’s the blurb; “As Robert Louis Stevenson’s poem ‘Requiem’ sets the tone, witness the first glimpses of Amicia and Hugo’s epic new adventure in a brutal, breathtaking world twisted by supernatural forces. After escaping their devastated homeland, Amicia and Hugo journey far south to new regions and vibrant cities. Discover the cost of saving those you love in a desperate struggle for survival. Strike from the shadows or unleash hell, overcoming foes and challenges with a variety of crafted tools and supernatural powers.”

Prepare for even more various environments, dangerous perils and many, many more rats. That’ll be helped by the power of the new generation consoles, which this game will be launching on. However, there will also be a version on the Nintendo Switch via the Cloud too.

Check out the trailer for yourself down below. A Plague Tale: Requiem currently sports a 2022 release date on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch.
