Infinity Ward has finally introduced a MW2 anti-cheat cloaking feature to deter hackers from using unfair exploits within the game. This newly added aspect of the RICOCHET system will apparently make legitimate players invisible from alleged cheaters. However, the cloaked player will still be able to see the suspect, thereby allowing them to fight back immediately.

This latest anti-cheat feature may just be the biggest recent addition into the game even after a new 6v6 map and the return of Gunfight to Season 3 had already been revealed by the developers. Rampant cheating has long been an issue in the latest CoD installment and this new mechanic will at least give players a fair shot at defending themselves.

Unfortunately, community reaction surrounding the MW2 anti-cheat cloaking feature has been a mixed bag so far. A few cynical users believe that it may be useless due to the fact that ‘wall hacks’ still allow cheaters to see through obstacles. Others have also mentioned that innocent players may fall victim to this flawed feature if they get ‘spam reported’ enough times.

Luckily, there are a few within the fan base that think of this as a small step in the right direction for the game. At the very least, this shows that the developers care enough about the current state of MW2 even though they may not have shown it in recent times, especially with numerous issues still being present within.

Be that as it may, it will take more than an anti-cheat cloaking device for Infinity Ward to get back into the player base’s good graces. But based on the features and mechanics that are being added with the upcoming third season, it seems that the developers are indeed trying their best to make the MW2 experience as smooth as possible for their loyal community.
