- Calcharo’s best build is as a main DPS.
- Weapon – Lustrous Razor (5-Star), Helios Cleaver (4-Star), or Broadblade of Night (3-Star).
- Main Echo – Thundering Mephis.
- Sonata Effect – 5-Piece Void Thunder.
The best Calcharo build in Wuthering Waves places a huge emphasis on his role as a main Electro DPS. He has huge damage potential, able to dish out combos to unleash a powered-up version of his Heavy Attack, which is further bolstered by his timing-based Resonance Skill. While he can be hard to master, you’ll see the results immediately after learning his kit and figuring out his best build.
Best build for Calcharo
For this character, you don’t have to do much to make him very strong. He fits in as a main DPS, using the Electro element to dish out damage. His playstyle sees you time his combos with his Skill and enhance his basic attack with his ultimate. Here is an overview of what you want:
Build | Weapon | Main Echo | Sonata Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Calcharo main DPS | Lustrous Razor (5-Star) Autumntrace (4-Star) Broadblade of Night (3-Star) Helios Cleaver (4-Star) | Tempest Mephis or Thundering Mephis. | 5-Piece Void Thunder to maximise Electro DMG. |
Calcharo best weapon
As a standard 5-Star character, the best weapon for him is easily the Lustrous Razer. If you happen to have one lying around, you can also give him the Verdant Summit if you’re not using it on Jiyan. The Lustrous Razer can only be obtained from the standard weapon banner, so you might not have it yet. If that’s the case, you can use any of the following alternatives:

Weapon | Rarity | Main Stat | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Lustrous Razer | 5-Star | ATK% | The Lustrous Razer is the 5-star broadblade on the standard weapon banner. This is arguably the best weapon for him, increasing ATK%, and Energy Regen, and giving a damage bonus. |
Autumn Trace | 4-Star | Crit Rate | This weapon buffs ATK when dealing Basic or Heavy attack damage, which synergises perfectly with his playstyle. It also has Crit Rate on the substat, which is fantastic. This is a Battle Pass weapon, just FYI. |
Helios Cleaver | 4-Star | ATK% | Helios Cleaver will see you through and never let you down. This is the go-to weapon for him if you don’t have the BP, while you wait to get your Lustrous Razer. |
Broadblade of Night | 3-Star | ATK% | The Broadblade of Night is very F2P friendly, being a standard drop on the banner. You’ll be able to get this to rank 5 through enhancement, making the passive effect better. |
We want to shout out the Broadblade of Night as being a great weapon to use if you don’t have any of the above. This is a very common weapon you can easily get to rank 5/5, and it has ATK% as its substat, making it powerful early on. Once you get any of the 4-Star weapons we recommend, switch over to one of them immediately.
Best Echo and Sonata Resonance
The Echo and Sonata Resonance are very easy to pick here. To make the most of his DPS, give him the 5-piece Void Thunder set to buff his Electro damage. The set grants Electro DMG+ and even more Electro DMG+ when using a Heavy Attack or Resonance Skill, which you’ll be doing a lot of.
Best Primary Echo
The best main Echo for him is Tempest Mephis or the Thundering Mephis. While you’re still levelling him, you can use the Flautist until you get one of those two Echos with your preferred stats. Both of these are powerful Echos that will boost his damage potential. The primary Echo is special because it lets you use the Echo’s skill in combat. For the Mephis, these skills are both Transformations, meaning you will turn into the creature briefly and perform an attack.
Echo | Effect |
---|---|
Tempest Mephis | Using this Echo in combat will summon the creature and deal Electro DMG. Increase Calcharo’s Electro DMG & Heavy Attack DMG. All of these things are amazing for him, making this the best pick by far. |
Thundering Mephis | Using this Echo in combat will summon the creature and deal Electro DMG. Further increases the damage of Calcharo’s Skill and Ultimate. Between the two, it’s down to whichever you prefer. |
Calcharo Echo Stat Priority
Echoes have a cost to equip, and characters want to follow a specific cost setup. For Calcharo, you want to focus on Crit Rate/DMG, Electro DMG, and ATK%. These stats are found on Echos and, depending on the Echo’s cost, they have a chance to have a specific stat roll. Generally speaking, the best setup is 4-Cost, 3-Cost, 3-Cost, 1-Cost, 1-Cost (4-3-3-1-1).
Echo Type | Main Stat Priority |
---|---|
4-Cost Echo | Crit Rate/DMG |
3-Cost Echo | Electro DMG Bonus |
1-Cost Echo | ATK Percent |
When building a simple DPS like Calcharo, you’ll must ensure a good spread between Crit Rate to Crit DMG. You want to have a 1:2 Crit Rate, meaning that if you have 50% Crit Rate, you want 100% Crit DMG. Substats will help you do this, and you should prioritise the Crit you need more, along with ATK% and Resonance Liberation damage.
Calcharo Forte priority
Levelling your Fortes will improve various aspects of your kit and the best order to level them is Resonance Liberation alongside Forte Circuit > Basic ATK > Resonance Skill > and finally his Intro Skill. Using this priority order, you can get the most out of his damage.
Forte | Priority |
---|---|
Forte Circuit | High |
Resonance Liberation | High |
Normal Attack | Medium |
Resonance Skill | Medium |
Intro Skill | Low |
The main damage you dish out is from using his ultimate (Liberation) to enhance his basic attack combo. His skill deals a lot of damage, but your main DPS is from the enhanced basic attacks, which is further bolstered by his Forte Circuit skill. Don’t worry too much about his Intro Skill, it’s a nice addition but nothing special in this case.
