Wuthering Waves best team comps:

  • Jinhsi, Yinlin, Verina.
  • Jiyan, Mortefi, Verina.
  • Calcharo, Yinlin, Verina.
  • Encore, Rover (Spectro), Taoqi.
  • Rover, Yangyang, Baizhi.

When it comes to choosing the best Wuthering Waves team comps, you’ll have to take a few things into consideration. Naturally, you might not have some characters because you’ve been unlucky on the gacha banners, or you haven’t built some characters yet. Generally speaking, you’ll want your party to consist of a main damage dealer, a sub-DPS / support, and a dedicated healer. Depending on the setup, you can forgo the healer to add more damage or more buffs, if you need it.

Best team compositions

Building your teams around main DPS characters like Jinhsi, Calcharo, Jiyan, and Encore will help you formulate strong parties. The best Wuthering Waves team comps will let you take advantage of each character’s unique abilities, and they mostly always need a healer. As such, Baizhi and Verina are also fantastic in any composition. You should also focus on team synergy and Outro Skills to make the most of them in fights. Use the table below to get an idea of some teams we’ve had great success with:

Wuthering Waves is a relatively new game and the character roster isn’t massive at the moment. This is good because it means teams are fairly similar for now and you’ll see a lot of the same characters able to fill in the spots. That is, of course, until these free-to-play and other 4-Star characters experience powercreeping. At the time of writing, Verina and Baizhi are the only true dedicated healers in the game, so your healer slots will be taken by one of them.

Jinhsi, Sanhua, Verina

  • Main dps: Jinhsi
  • Sub-DPS: Sanhua, Taoqi, Yinlin
  • Healer: Verina or Baizhi

This comp focuses on Jinhsi as the main DPS of the team. Jinhsi is the Spectro element and she uses a broadblade. The best part of her kit, however, is her overall damage and the scaling her attacks get. When paired with Sanhua, a character who can increase your normal attack damage, you’ll see an even better performance from Jinhsi.

Yinlin also works extremely well with Jinhsi since she is just that powerful and her off-field DPS is fantastic. We’ve put Verina as the healer, making this a fairly premium team but you can use Baizhi since she’s free. If you don’t want to use a healer, you can slot Taoqi here to help with Jinhsi’s damage and provide protection.

Calcharo, Yinlin, Verina

  • Main DPS: Calcharo
  • Sub-DPS: Yinlin / Mortefi / Sanhua
  • Healer: Verina or Baizhi

While Calcharo is your main DPS, the one who benefits the most from this is Yinlin. She shines in Electro teams and could take the spot for main DPS. Calcharo is strong by himself, the damage buff from Yinlin’s Outro skill is very helpful for him. Yinlin is arguably better in the sub-DPS role since her Marking mechanic deals damage while she’s off-field. If you don’t have Yinlin, you can still make a strong team around Calcharo using Mertefi or Sanhua, both of whom will provide buffs and their own DPS.

If you’ve got Verina, she should be used instead because she is simply better in every way than Baizhi. If you don’t care about being meta, use Baizhi to keep things interesting. It is important to note that some enemies have full element resistances, and taking a team with two of the same element can cripple you.

Jiyan, Mortefi, Verina

  • Main dps: Jiyan
  • Sub-DPS: Mortefi
  • Healer: Verina or Baizhi

If you were lucky enough to get Jiyan on his debut banner, you’ve got one of the strongest main DPS characters in the game right now. Building your party around Jiyan, using the likes of Mortefi and Verina (or Baizhi), will help you make the most of his heavy attacks. Mortefi can provide a powerful damage buf for characters who want to use their Heavy Attack, which makes him perfect for Jiyan. If you don’t have Mortefi, you can still make a decent comp with Aalto or Yangyang.

Encore, Rover, Taoqi

  • Main dps: Encore
  • Sub-DPS: Rover (Spectro)
  • Support: Taoqi or any healer.

Even with the extremely powerful limited 5-Star characters from the Banners, Encore is still a fantastic main DPS. You get her from the Standard Banner and she has great synergy with Spectro Rover, thanks to how many times she can hit and the speed of her attacks. Encore is very beginner friendly and you only need a bit of good timing to master her rotations. Stop them in place with Rover’s Resonance Liberation (ultimate) and start whacking them with Encore. As ever, your healer is there to top you up if you get hurt.

Rover, Yangyang, and Baizhi

  • Main dps: Rover (Spectro)
  • Sub-DPS: Yangyang
  • Healer: Baizhi or Verina

This team is for you free-to-play fellows out there. We all have Yangyang, but you can replace her with any of the other four-star sword users in the game. Taoqi, even though she’s more of a defensive support, and Danjin are excellent and fun to play. Feel free to put Yangyang on the bench for a while as you try out different compositions. Baizhi can also be replaced with Verina, but it’s up to you.

Danjin, Mortefi, Verina

Danjin is a fantastic DPS and is one of the better 4-Star character out there at the moment. Danjin needs a healer to help her stay alive, thanks to how her skill consumes her HP. Danjin does have self healing, but it’s better to be safe with a dedicated support character here. As mentioned, Mortefi can help provide a damage buff to Heavy Attacks, while also being a strong sub-DPS in his own right. To make this team more F2P friendly, you can use Baizhi or go full glass cannon mode and take another sub DPS like Sanhua or Yangyang.

Rover, Danjin, Verina

  • Main DPS: Rover (Havoc)
  • Sub DPS: Danjin or Sanhua
  • Healer: Verina

Once you unlock the Havoc element for the Rover, you’ll notice that it is almost better than Spectro in every single way. While gated behind story progression, the Havoc main character is incredibly strong as a main DPS, able to perform well in most situations. Their damage is great and they have amazing synergy with Danjin, who can increase the Havoc damage of a party member. Sanhua can be used if you don’t have Danjin due to her buff to normal attack damage. Verina or Baizhi can be your healer, or you can bring Taoqi or Yuanwu as your defensive support.

Best party setup

You’ll want to stick to the following party setup: Main DPS, Sub-DPS, and Healer. A lot of the game so far is built around using teams to enhance your main DPS, whether through damage bonuses to Normal or Charged Attacks or simply with helpful Intro and Outro skills. That’s not to say you can’t try other setups, using a main DPS and two sub-DPS, or a main DPS with two Support characters, for example, but due to limited characters available at the moment, the first formula is best.
