Changes to the new UI in Dragonflight
With the release of this massive update, the interface of the game is getting reworked as well. A major HUD UI overhaul is expected and Blizzard will allow you to customize every aspect of your interface. This company is primarily focused on quality, so they make sure you always get the best experience.
One of the changes that have been implemented will directly affect your own inventory layout. There is now an option to merge all of your bag windows into a single one, so you can manage your items better. However, this option is not permanent and you can always switch back to multiple windows if you have more bags.

You will also be able to easily recognize the mandatory quests offered by NPCs since there is an entirely new mouseover cursor when you hover over them. This way, you will know which quest is about the main story and which one is optional. While these changes are quite impressive, the best feature is that you can customize every part of your HUD.

How to Customize UI in Dragonflight
If you are not sharing the game with someone else, then it is understandable that you might want it to be just the way you like it. Your expectations can be now met and your preferences applied to the settings of this game that allows you to customize your user interface according to your own needs.
By pressing the escape button, you will open the menu. Look for the Edit Mode, which should be the 4th option starting from the top. After you click this button, you will enter the HUD edit mode and a new window pops up.

As you can see, several areas of your screen are now encased in a light-blue square that can be dragged around the screen. You can move these elements wherever you want and you can also change their size and adjust them.
In the HUD Edit Mode window, you can also add and remove several more windows on your screen. Make all the necessary changes and modifications and customize this screen just the way you like it. When you are done, simply click on the “Save” button and the window will close automatically. As you can see, there is also a “Revert all changes” button if you want to start over with your edit.

Can I use the old UI in Dragonflight?
Players that are just joining the game and starting their journey in the world of Azeroth will prefer the new interface since it is modern and more sharp-looking. But those that have been playing since day 1 will get nostalgic and might want to return to the old user interface that they learned more than 2 decades ago.
In that case, Blizzard lets everyone choose their preferred interface style. By opening the menu and accessing the “Edit mode” again, you will now see the HUD Edit Mode window again. On the upper left side of this window, there is a drop-down menu that allows you to switch between interfaces instantly.

There are two options, and they are called Modern and Classic. The Modern one refers to the newer version that has been implemented in Dragonflight whereas the Classic one is still the same as the one that you were used to.
However, the only change that is applied is the location of the player and target frames. They are no longer displayed on the lower side of the center part of your screen but rather at the top-left side where they used to be until this update.
