With the release of the new update, the entire user interface has been changed as well. While the layout is still the same, some visual modifications and new implementations give World of Warcraft a brand-new look. Artwork created by artists in the Blizzard team is something to appreciate, but it is understandable if some players want to deactivate them.

The action bar should be clean and sharp for someone that wants to focus strictly on the gameplay. That is why in this article we will show you how you can remove the Gryphons art in Dragonflight.

How to Remove the Gryphons

  1. Press the Escape key to open the Menu

Open the start menu, which I feel kind of cheeky telling you how to do!

  2. Look for ‘Edit Mode’

This will be the 4th option in the menu from the top.

  3. Press on the Action Bar

The HUD Edit Window should open up, which you’re going to use to find the Action Bar.

  4. Open ‘Action Bar 1’

Open Action Bar 1, which will let you hide the Gryphons in Dragonflight.

  5. Click on ‘Hide Bar Art’

Remember to press save after you’re done.

Removing these Gryphons from the Action Bar is not difficult, and you can start by pressing the Escape key in order to open the Menu. Look for the “Edit Mode” button, which should be 4th in line starting from the top. Once you click on it, the HUD Edit Window will open, allowing you to make necessary changes to your interface.

Press on the Action Bar situated at the bottom of your screen and a new window will open, named “Action Bar 1”. You can make all the necessary changes here and you should look for the “Hide Bar Art” section. Uncheck this preference by clicking on the box and closing the window when you are done. Don’t forget to press the “Save” button in the HUD Edit Mode window before you close that one as well.

The Gryphons in World of Warcraft

At the bottom of your screen, there is the Action Bar that holds your skills and shortcuts. You can activate them by pressing keys or performing a combination of them. As you can see, there are two Gryphons there as well, with one situated at each side of the Action Bar.

For those that are just getting started, Gryphons are the symbol of fortitude among the wild dwarves of Aerie Peak. This definition refers to the story of the game, and this creature is a powerful beast that can reach lengths of up to 9 feet. It has a significant role in the story, and they are quite popular in the game as well.

With a wingspan of up to 30 feet, the Gryphon can double in size as it takes off. Its wings are also powerful enough to lift any beast into the air, so this mythical creature outperforms any predator we have in the real world. But you can also use it as a mount and fly on a Gryphon yourself.

The Gryphons have landed on your Action Bar

If you are not impressed with the reputation and stature of these beasts, you are not to blame. After all, not all players want to immerse themselves in the story and the specifics of the lore. The two Gryphons situated at each end of the Action Bar can be quite distracting, especially in the Dragonflight update when they got a visual improvement.

Those that are more focused on combat will prefer to completely remove them instead. When you are battling the dungeon boss or when a player challenges you to a fair duel, you want to pay full attention to your Action Bar and be constantly updated about your skills and their cooldown.

How to Move Action Bars and Customize Them

Now that the Gryphons have disappeared, their Action Bar is more compact and you can be more efficient during intense moments. But there are many more changes that you can make to this section, and you should check all of them out.

Open the menu again by pressing the Escape key and clicking on “Edit Mode”. Now that the HUD Edit Mode has been started again, you can make all the necessary changes to your interface. Click on the Action Bar that you want to modify, and there are several settings that you can adjust. They are:

  • Number of Rows
  • Number of Icons
  • Icon Size
  • Icon Padding
  • Hide Bar Art
  • Hide Bar Scrolling

You can adjust each of these settings manually. Additionally, you can also click and drag the Action Bar itself to any location on your screen. You can do the same with each item in the user interface, and you can create your ideal layout by making these changes.

Final Thoughts

This game was always about the players, as they are the ones who decide the entire experience. That is why World of Warcraft is a multiplayer title that is best enjoyed with your friends and other people that you meet along the way. Each of them has their own preferences, just like you have yours.

Whether you are fascinated by the mighty Gryphon or completely careless about this creature, now you know how to activate and deactivate its presence in the Action Bar at the bottom of your screen. You also learned how to reposition and resize the Action Bar itself for a better and more immersive gaming experience.
