Is there a Season 5 preload for MW2 and Warzone?

There is a preload available for MW2 and Warzone Season 5. The preload will be available on all consoles including PlayStation and Xbox. It’s unclear if it’ll be available for PC.

MW2 and Warzone Season 5 preload start times

The preload for Season 5 will be available from August 1, 2023. Players will be able to start the preload any time from 5PM BST/ 12PM EST/ 9AM PDT. Players will be able to preload at any time they wish, up until the start of Season 5. After this it of course becomes a standard download. Keep in mind that preloading Season 5 won’t alter the Season 5 start time for you, as that will remain fixed and the same for all players.

There has been some speculation about preload times not being met, which has happened with Activision before in previous seasons. So far though, everything seems to be running smoothly.

How to preload Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 update

Preloading is fairly easy to do. If you’re on PS5 then don’t worry. All you need to do is have your machine turned on, and it’ll automatically begin the preload for Season 5.

If you’re on Xbox Series X/S, you’ll need to navigate to Modern Warfare 2 in your game library, and select “Manage games and add-ons”. This should then start the preload.
