UFC 5 is almost here. The latest in the hit fighting franchise from EA Sports is available very soon. Those who pre-ordered the game can get a few days of early access, which is about to begin. Regardless of whether or not you’re about to get the game tonight or in a few days, you may be wondering if the popular New Zealand trick works. We have the answer and more for you here.

Can I use the New Zealand trick on UFC 5?

Yes, the New Zealand trick does work for UFC 5. In fact, it is just past midnight in New Zealand at the time of writing. That makes it technically October 23, which is the official early access date. That means you could use the NZ trick and get the game early.

You can theoretically use any region of the world if you wanted to, such as Argentina, England (UK), Paris, South Africa or anywhere that gets to the next day before your own time zone. New Zealand always works best because it’s the first zone to enter a new day across the globe.

Here’s how to do it, but it should be noted that this is exclusively allowed for Xbox consoles. PlayStation games are locked by region, which means you would have to purchase the digital version of the game with a New Zealand regional account. If you don’t have one of those, you can’t get the game early this way.

UFC 5 is not available for PC, so there’s no trick to getting it early on that platform, either. For the Xbox Series X|S, here’s how you can take advantage of this fun time trick:

  1. Open the Settings menu on your Xbox console.
  2.  Go to the System tab.
  3.  Select Language & Location.
  4.  Change your console’s location to New Zealand.
  5.  Restart your console.
  6.  Once the Xbox loads, the game should be available. You can open it from there and begin playing.
  7. Once it is officially the next day in your own time zone, you can change it back. If you change it back early, you will lose access to the game.

This is a trick that has been popular with the FIFA franchise, as well as many other popular games. Fans always want to get the game as early as possible, and this is often how to do that. This trick will work today for those who have early access. However, if you’re waiting for the official release date, then you will be able to use this trick then, too.
