- Get Eternal Willpower from the Baggage Transport Base in the Agna Desert.
- All characters can use this weapon effectively.
- Use upgraded modules like Bullet Rain, Insight Stabilizer, and Insight Focus.
While the Tamer might be dominating the meta right now, Eternal Willpower is no slouch of an AR in The First Descendant. If you can get used to its recoil, you can take down mobs and bigger targets easily with its high crit chance. Here’s what you need to know about finding this gun and unleashing its full potential against enemies. We’ve tested it out in a variety of environments to determine the best build to work towards.
Where to get Eternal Willpower
The fastest way to find Eternal Willpower is at the Baggage Transport Base in the Agna Desert. While it can also be obtained from the final Red Sphere mission in the same region, it takes thrice as long to clear. Both missions offer a 50% chance of dropping this item so you won’t have to grind them unless you want guns with specific traits. And remember that you need to defeat the Dead Bride Void Intercept boss to access this region.
Baggage Transport Base involves destroying Kuiper ores after interacting with a machine. To do so, simply stand near one of seven Kuiper ore piles for 15 seconds as you take down enemies. Clearing seven piles before the mission timer ends will let you complete the mission. As for Red Sphere, it’s a longer mission which involves clearing platforming segments mixed with combat encounters before taking on a final boss. On Hard mode, you’ll be able to farm high-level variants of this weapon.
Best Eternal Willpower build
This assault rifle can be difficult to aim due to its high recoil but its damage output is pretty solid. Over the course of the game, I’ve been able to take weaker foes down in a couple of shots. You can account for this high recoil and focus on its strengths with the right modules. Here’s what we recommend for the best build for this gun in The First Descendant:
- Descendant: All characters
- Upgraded modules: Bullet Rain, Electric Gunbarrel, Insight Stabilizer, Rifling Reinforcement, Insight Focus
Best Descendant to use with Eternal Willpower
All characters can use this assault rifle effectively. Thanks to its decent range, weaker characters like Viessa can stay back to recover if they’re injured in battle. You can also use the right mods to synergise with specific characters better. For instance, Freyna can use the Toxic Conductor mod to enhance her attack power whenever she poisons foes with her abilities. Gley’s frenzied state boosts the weapon’s DPS. Lepic’s Traction Grenade also pairs well with this weapon as it drags foes to a single position. But due to its recoil and small magazine, you’re better off using the Tamer LMG in this situation.
Best modules for Eternal Willpower
Modules can let you target specific weaknesses of bosses or focus on overall effectiveness in combat. For the assault rifle, we recommend lowering its recoil while enhancing stats like Firearm ATK, Fire Rate, and Critical Hit Rate. Toxic Conductor pairs well with Freyna but you can swap it with Better Concentration or Better Insight for higher Critical Hit stats as the gun starts with a high Critical Hit rate. You can also use an Energy Activator to improve your module capacity. Here are the mods we’ve picked:
Module | Description |
---|---|
Bullet Rain | Fire Rate +8%, Firearm ATK +1% |
Electric Gunbarrel | Electric ATK +23%, Fire Rate -6% |
Insight Stabilizer | Recoil -8%, Firearm Critical Hit Rate +1.5% |
Rifling Reinforcement | Firearm ATK +12% |
Insight Focus | +x% Firearm Critical Hit Rate, +x% Firearm Critical Hit Damage |
And here are the stats you should focus on rerolling:
- Firearm Critical Hit Damage
- Firearm Critical Hit Rate
- Weak Point Damage
- Bonus Firearm ATK (vs. Colossi)
Eternal Willpower stats
Level up your weapons at Mastery Rank 4 with Superalloy to enhance their stats after acquiring them. Here are the stats that a level 1 Eternal Willpower has:
Stat | Value |
---|---|
Type | Assault Rifle |
Round Type | General Rounds |
Fire Rate | 499 |
Effective Range | 35-60m |
Rounds per Mag | 25 |
Reload Time | 1.9 seconds |
DPS | 232 |
Firearm ATK | 45 |
Tips for using Eternal Willpower effectively
- Use weapons with different ammo types: Pick guns that use Special, High-Power, or Impact Rounds. We recommend using an Impact hand cannon and a High-Power shotgun along with this assault rifle as these guns are better against foes with large health bars.
- Keep an eye on your weapon range drop-off values: Your gun will deal less damage to foes that are over 60m away from you. So try to stick close to foes as you face them unless you’re low on health.
- Get accustomed to its recoil: This assault rifle is notorious for recoil that kicks the barrel upwards while firing. While mods can reduce this effect, it’s still something you have to get used to. Once you figure out where to aim, you will be able to deal even more damage against enemies. You can also try firing in short bursts if the recoil pattern is a chore to keep track of.
