The big bad of the series, Tekken 8 Kazuya has come a long way since he was the protagonist of the original game. Renowned for his difficulty and demanding inputs, those who put in the time to master Kazuya will undoubtedly have one of the strongest characters in the game in their hands. So if you’re ready to get started learning him, we’ve got his full move list and some bread-and-butter combos to get you started.

Tekken notation

Before you can start learning moves and combos, it’s important to know Tekken notation. This helps quickly explain specific inputs in one or two characters instead of having to write out the full thing every time. Our move list and combos use the notation below, so make sure to refer back to it to know exactly what to do.

Kazuya move list

If you’ve played Kazuya before, you’ll recognize a lot of his moveset, but there have been some tweaks with a few new moves and some old moves being removed. Here is Kazuya’s full move list in Tekken 8:

Heat System

  1. All moves will deal chip damage on block
  2. A Heat Dash can be used when a Heat Engager hits or is blocked (after activation, Heat will end)
  3. Heat Smash, a move that causes critical damage, can be activated (after activation, Heat will end)
  4. Allows the use of new moves using the devil’s power
  5. Allows the use of Electric Thrusting Uppercut and Electric Wind Hook Fist without Just input

Tekken 8 Kazuya combos

Kazuya has some of the most difficult execution in the game, and before you even get to mastering your electrics, you’ll want to get these combos down to stand a chance online. Here are a few bread-and-butter Kazuya combos to get you started in Tekken 8:

  • Combo 1: EWGF, b4, d/f3, 2, 1, DASH, 3, 1d/f, (during Wind God Step) d/f3
  • Combo 2: f, f3, EWGF, b2, 2, d/f1, d/f2, DASH, 3, 1d/f, (during Wind God Step) d/f3
  • Combo 3: WS1, 2, DASH, WS1+2, b2, 2, b2, 2, 1+2

Kazuya requires incredibly precise inputs, and has has some of the highest execution requirements in Tekken. Mastering his EWGF and being able to pull it out at a moment’s notice is key, and will take plenty of time to get right consistently.
