If you’re wondering where to catch Tears of the Kingdom Sunset Fireflies, you’re in the right place. These little critters can be found in many areas of Hyrule, and can be of great use to players looking to sneak past their enemies.

If you’re looking to spice up some of your Tears of the Kingdom elixir recipes or upgrade your armour at one of Hyrule’s Tears of the Kingdom Great Fairy locations, we’ll let you know how to get all the Tears of the Kingdom Sunset Fireflies you need.

Where can you find Sunset Fireflies in Tears of the Kingdom?

Sunset Fireflies can be found across Hyrule at night. They are especially prevalent in forested or swampy areas such as in the Faron or Necluda regions. They can also be found in certain towns like Kakariko Village and Hateno Village.

They should be relatively easy to spot, as you’ll see a cluster of glowing green spots in the air. The easiest way to hunt for them is to set up a campfire and wait until night. They are very easily startled, and will fly away if you aren’t careful, so the best way to approach them is to sneak up on a group of them. Using sneak elixirs or armour with a sneak boost such as Tears of the Kingdom Yiga Armour will help out a lot.

What are Sunset Fireflies used for in Tears of the Kingdom?

Sunset Fireflies have two main uses, as an ingredient for elixirs, and as a material in armour upgrades. Sunset Fireflies can be cooked with monster parts to create an elixir which will increase your stealthiness, allowing you to sneak around more effectively.

They are also required for the second upgrade to the Stealth Armour set, with each individual piece requiring five Sunset Fireflies to upgrade, in addition to five Blue Nightshades and 50 rupees.

Finally, they are also a requirement for the quest The Flute Player’s Plan. This quest requires you to collect 10 Sunset Fireflies for a the troupe member Pyper so that he can put on a display involving a tree for Haite. This quest is a requirement for completing the Great Fairy quest Serenade to Kaysa.
