Tears of the Kingdom diamonds are very hard to come by across Hyrule, and with good reason. As well as being worth a pretty penny, they can also be a very valuable material for making some pretty powerful weaponry.

Prepare yourself to hunt some Tears of the Kingdom Shrines and take on a Tears of the Kingdom Stone Talus or two, because we’re going to be going through how you can get yourself some Tears of the Kingdom diamonds.

Where can you find diamonds in Tears of the Kingdom?

There are four main ways that you can obtain diamonds in Tears of the Kingdom. These are:

  • Mining ore deposits
  • Completing Shrines
  • Defeating a Stone Talus
  • Feeding Dondons

Mining ore deposits

Across Hyrule you’ll find large, shiny, black ore deposits which contain various ores. Most commonly, these contain flint or rock salt, but can also contain gems such as rubies, sapphires, and of course, diamonds. Gems are relatively rare however, and you won’t manage to find a diamond in every deposit you see. You’ll find ore deposits in most caves, as well as plenty around Death Mountain, so smash up any that you see and hopefully you’ll get lucky.

Completing Shrines

Some Shrines offer a diamond either as a reward for completion, or in a chest in the Shrine itself. While these are a great option to get a guaranteed diamond, each of them is only available once, so when it’s gone, it’s gone. Shrines with diamonds in that we know about are:

  • Jinodok Shrine (-1257, -1487, 1008)
  • Jochi-ihiga Shrine (3810, 1220, 0090)
  • Maoikes Shrine (2276, 0148, 0079)
  • Mayaotaki Shrine (-0823, 3534, 0235)
  • Sihajog Shrine (4549, -0845, 1120)
  • Yomizuk Shrine (4414, -0613, 0033)

Defeating a Stone Talus

A Stone Talus is a miniboss you’ll find all over Hyrule. It’s a collection of moving boulders with a large ore deposit on its back. Defeating one of these will give the player a multitude of ore drops, which have the potential to include diamonds. In particular, there is one Stone Talus located in the Depths northwest of the Abandoned Kakariko Mine which drops a guaranteed two diamonds. If you’re trying to farm, coming here after every blood moon is a good plan.

Feeding Dondons

Dondons are a new addition in TotK. Over the river from the Lakeside Stable in the southern Faron region, you’ll find dondons, a large tusked animal which you can feed luminous stones, much like you can feed the dogs at stables. Drop a luminous stone for each dondon to eat, and then leave the area for a few minutes. Come back and the stones will have been replaced by some ores. Again, just like with ore deposits, you’re unlikely to get diamonds very often, but if you’ve got a stack of luminous stones gathering dust in your inventory, this could be a great way to use them.

That’s all the best ways to get Tears of the Kingdom diamonds. You’ll probably come across diamonds naturally as you play, but if you’re in a rush, these will be your go-to to get more.
