Starfield Bare Metal – how to persuade Warlord

Wondering whether to speak or kill Warlord or how to persuade Warlord in Starfield? The Bare Metal quest has you visit Warlord on behalf of Franck Renick, whose robot, Styx, was vandalised with graffiti by the gang member. You’ll be tasked to visit Euphorika in Neon’s Ebbside district to resolve the situation and seek retribution.

How to persuade Warlord in Starfield 

To persuade Warlord in Starfield select the following dialogue options:

• [Persuade] You’re going to pay for the damages. 

• Renick’s not all there in the head. Do you really want him as an enemy? 

• You’ve got the Strikers to worry about. Don’t waste time with Renick. 

• I know you have your reasons. I’m just trying to help.

• This needs to end. Haven’t you lost enough of your crew?


These options will convince Warlord to lay off Renick’s robot and pay for the damages. As always with Starfield persuasion, luck and RNG factor in, so it’s worth having a save ready before you talk to Warlord. It’s also worth spending some skill points on the Persuasion skill to up your chances. Head back to Renick to settle the feud and complete the quest.

Should you speak to or kill Warlord

The decision is ultimately yours (or which way your moral compass points) because the outcome is the same (other than Warlord dying) whether you persuade or gun down Warlord: Renick will get his retribution in the form of credits. Persuading Warlord has him hand over the credits; killing Warlord allows you to loot his body for the credits.
