What is Solar Essence in Stardew Valley?

Solar Essence is a monster loot item in Stardew Valley. Quite a few monsters drop this, but that doesn’t exactly make it easy to come by. It is also a dangerous one to get since it involves fighting often difficult mobs that are not going to take you lightly. You can find these enemies in the mines at various levels, but some, such as mummies, you will also found in Skull Cavern. Sunfish may also drop a Solar Essence in a Fish Pond when the pond population is maxed out.

Upon entering the mines, I went straight to level 55. There, a ghost spawned and dropped Solar Essence. This item is not hard to get, but be prepared for the fight you’ll have to endure. Bring good weapons and make sure you have food!

How to get Stardew Valley Solar Essence

The easiest way to get Solar Essence is to kill the monsters that drop it, which include:

• Ghosts
• Iridium Bat
• Metal Head
• Haunted Skull
• Squid Kid
• Mummy
• Hot Head
• Blue Squid

You can also purchase them from Krobus, the only friendly monster in the entire game. Krobus lives in the Sewers. He sells Solar Essence for 80 gold each, with a maximum of 10 being available every day.

Solar Essence Uses

When you’re building up the Community Center, Solar Essence is important. It is part of the Adventurer’s Bundle to rebuild the Boiler Room. This bundle also includes Slime, Bat Wing, and Void Essence. Completion of this one grants the Small Magnet Ring.

You can also use this for tailoring. Put the Solar Essence in the spool of the Sewing Machine to make the Yoba Shirt. You can use it as yellow dye as well in dye pots.
