Exploring the Zone takes its toll on your Stalker’s kit, causing wear and tear on your weapons and armor. If left unchecked, this degradation renders your gear all but useless, so it’s worth periodically repairing it to be prepared for anything Chornobyl throws at you, whether that’s mutants or other Stalkers. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to repair armor and weapons in Stalker 2.
Durability explained
Open up your inventory, hover over any weapon – equipped or in your backpack – to bring up a description that lists its durability via a four section gauge at the bottom of the window. This represents the conditions of the weapon, which deteriorates over time as you use it out in the wilderness. Below a certain point, the weapon will jam, something you want to avoid in the heat of a tense fight. Past a certain degradation point, you’ll see a yellow icon next to the weapon in your inventory, shifting over to red when it’s on its last legs. When it goes red, repair is as soon as possible.

How to repair gear in Stalker 2
To repair armor and weapons, you’ll need to visit a technician and pay an amount of coupons – determined by the level of deterioration on the weapon or piece of armor – to get it fixed. The worse the deterioration the higher the price. Larger weapons like ARs also tend to require more coupons to get repaired.

You’ll find technicians across the Zone, but primarily in larger settlements and Stalker camps. The first one you’ll come across is Lens who is stationed in Zalissya in the Lesser Zone, the first major camp you’ll reach as part of the story. Technicians are represented by a green spanner icon on the map.
Talk to a technician, tap Q (on PC) to Upgrade. Select a piece of armor or weapon in the list on the left, then in the bottom right you’ll see the cost in coupons to repair it. If you have the funds, tap the Repair button prompt (R on PC) marked in the bottom right hand. The technician will immediately repair the piece of kit.
We strongly recommend repairing your favourite weapons whenever you visit a major camp. The coupon cost may seem high but, trust us, nothing is quite as bad as a jammed weapon when you’re out in the Zone miles away from safety. If you are trophy hunting, it’s worse letting one weapon degrade totally to snap up the Taking it for granted achievement, otherwise always keep your gear in top condition.
