Shadowed Plunge Diablo 4 – location & walkthrough

The Shadowed Plunge is a dungeon in Diablo 4, with a very powerful reward awaiting Rogue players. However, the Shadowed Plunge is a dungeon locked behind a Stronghold, which players will need to beat before they can access it. Here is everything you need to know about the Shadowed Plunge dungeon and how to access it.

Note that the big reward for the dungeon is the Barrage legendary aspect Aspect of Branching Volleys. This enables your Barrage to more easily ricochet, increasing your AOE and single target damage considerably. It’s a big ticket item for any Barrage or Rogue levelling builds to make their progression significantly easier.

Shadowed Plunge location

To find the Shadowed Plunge dungeon in Diablo 4, players must first complete the Vyeresz Stronghold, located in the southern central region of Hawezar in the northwestern enclave area of the Toxic Fens on the southern coast. You will need to be around level 40 to take on teh challenges of the stronghold.

To complete the Stronghold, you need to kill the NPCS in the huts to the west and the two to the east of the area. Once they are done, you’ll be able to take on the locked door in the centre and fight mobs that awaken in the middle. Once you are through, you can then fight a boss in the swamp area. With the stronghold clear, you can now access the Shadowed Plunge dungeon, located on top of the stairs to the east of where you fight the boss.

Shadowed Plunge Walkthrough

When you get into the Shadowed Plunge, you have two major objectives

• Free 7 Prisoners
• Destroy 3 Ward of Eyes

The first part of the dungeon will have you explore winding pathways. You’ll often find seven prisoners spread out across different box-shaped areas on the map. One of the first large rectangle area, with another veering to the side with the remaining prisoners. 

You cna find an example of the dungeon layout above.

In the second part of the dungeon, you need to progress through and find more snake people and cultists. You’ll find another large rectanglular shaped room to explore, with the 3 Wards of Eyes located around the different angles of the rectangle. The Wards of Eyes are also guarded by elites and other event spawns around the area. Kill them all and their guards and you shall complete the dungeon. If you are a rogue, you should now have access to the aspect to complete your Barrage build’s most key aspect.
