The Rogue is looking to be one of the best classes Diablo 4. There are a variety of builds that players can turn to when playing the Rogue class thanks to buffs, new legendary, and unique changes. If you intend to play as one, here’s a closer look at a the best Rogue levelling build in Season 5 of Diablo 4.

Skills

The Barrage skill is great for a Diablo 4 Rogue levelling build for Season 5. You will find that they do a lot of damage, can kite easily, and will make effective farmers. Rogues also come with tons of mobility, making their clear speeds for dungeon farms, Helltides, and Hellbreaches even easier. Here’s a look at the skills you want to run:

SkillRankModifiers
Puncture1Enhanced, Fundamental
Barrage5Enhanced, Advanced
Dash1Enhanced, Methodical
Shadow Step1Enhanced, Disciplined
Dark Shroud5Enhanced, Subverting
Shadow Imbuement1Enhanced, Blended

The general idea behind this build is to use Dash and Shadow Step as movement skills to improve your kill speed. These upgraded skills also grant extra stacks, stuns, and crit chance improvements. These come in handy for the Puncture skill that applies the Vulnerable effect, allowing the Rogue to get solid damage multipliers rolling on their Barrage attacks. You then want to spend skill points as follows:

SkillRankDescription
Sturdy16% Close damage reduction
Siphoning Strikes2Lucky Hit: Critical strikes against Close enemies have up to an 85% chance to heal for 2% of your max life.
Weapon Mastery3Gain a bonus when attacking with the weapons. 21% increased damage to Healthy enemies with daggers. Swords grant 9% increased damage. Bows grant 12% more to Vulnerable enemies. And Crossbows deal 15% increased Crit Strike damage.
Exploit318% increased damage to Healthy Targets and Injured enemies.
Malice3You deal 12% increased damage to Vulnerable or knocked down enemies.
Consuming Shadows2Each time you kill an enemy with Shadow damage, you generate 20 Energy.
Precision Damage3Imbued Skills gain a 9% increased crit strike chance.
Adrenaline Rush1While moving, you gain 5% increased Energy Regeneration.
Haste3While at above 50% maximum Energy, gain 15% Movement Speed. While below 50%, you gain 15% Attack Speed.
Impetus3After moving 15 meters, your next core or Ultimate Attack deals 24% increased damage. While the damage bonus remains, your Agility and Subertfuge Skills deal increased damage.
Precision1Each Marksman Skill cast gains 1 Stack of Precision or 2 if it is a critical hit. When you reach 4 stacks your next Marksman core skill or ultimate is guaranteed to crit for an additional 50% crit damage. The damage is further increased by an amount equal to 15% of your crit strike damage modifier.

We strongly advise getting the passives in the Imbuement section first. Follow it up with the Marskman keycap passive, and then the ultimate passives. You can then gain defensiveness closer to level 50 and the Vulnerable and crit modifiers as you level up. With your spare points, feel free to put points into Poison Imbue. It should help for bonus boss killing damage. You may need to do this when taking on the capstone dungeon for World Tier 2.

Gear

When it comes to gear, you ideally want to have the lLgendaries in all your gear slots. Most of these are random gear drops, so make sure to run enough dungeons and Helltides to get a chance at the Legendary Aspect you want for the levelling build.

As for stats, you should also aim for crit strike chance and crit strike damage stats on your gear where possible for synergy with your keystone passive. Don’t forget when you unlock your specialisation, you want to use combo points for the burst that Barrage provides.

With these main skills, passives, and aspects, this should help you get to level 50 and enter World Tier 3. For the most part, the build can continue to level you through to level 50-70 before uniques and even better legendaries start dropping. Feel free to run this build for the course of your character’s late-game gearing.

If you’re lucky with the reputation rewards, you may find the unique ring, Writhing Band of Trickery. This makes your Subterfuge skills leave behind a taunting trap that lures in enemies. This can make your survivability and mob clearing even better as your Barrage can easily ricochet.
