To catch Piplup, you need to upgrade the Polar Biome of the Terarium. This is done by contributing 3,000 Blueberry Points (BP) to the Terarium Club in the League Club Room. Doing this will also unlock Pokemon like Cyndaquil and Chimchar.
Piplup is the most common of the starter Pokemon in the Polar Biome. Thanks to this, you shouldn’t waste too much time locating this Pokemon. We were able to find Piplup near the Polar Rest Area within a few minutes.
You will encounter Piplup between levels 50 and 70. Make sure to bring a Pokemon with you that knows the move False Swipe to prevent Piplup from fainting during battle.
How to evolve Piplup in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC
To evolve Piplup, you simply need to level it up. Piplup evolves into Prinplup when it hits level 16. Prinplup then evolves into Empoleon when it reaches level 36. Since you will catch Piplup at a higher level, you will only need to level it up once to get Prinplup and then level Prinplup up once to get Empoleon.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Piplup evolves into a water and steel-type Pokemon. Empoleon is weak to electric, fighting, and ground-type moves. This Pokemon is resistant to normal, water, ice, flying, psychic, bug, rock, dragon, steel, and fairy-type moves. Empoleon is immune to poison-type moves.
Piplup and its evolutions have the following abilities:
