Need to know how to evolve your Horsea into Seadra and then Kingdra? Growing alongside your Pokémon is one of the biggest rewards in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and evolutions are the best reward of all.

With a Blueberry Pokédex of over 200 Pokémon, you’ll need a lot of determination to catch them all. From big tasks like taking on the Elite Four, to regular ones like battling trainers across Terarium, Indigo Disk has plenty of challenges for you to take on. One challenge is evolving your Horsea into its evolutions, Seadra and Kingdra. If you need help getting your Horsea evolved, we’re here to help.

How to evolve Horsea into Seadra

There’s only one way to get Horsea to evolve into Seadra, and that’s by the Pokémon reaching level 32. Use Horsea in battle for the quickest way to gain experience and level them up. However, even just keeping Horsea in your party will allow for them to level quickly.

There’s no trick to this, unfortunately. You’ll just have to keep grinding until your Horsea reaches level 32. However, as soon as they do, you’ll get your Horsea to evolve into Seadra.

How to evolve Seadra into Kingdra

Once you’ve got your Seadra, to evolve them into Kingdra, they need to be holding the Dragon Scale evolution item and then traded to another player. This is the only method for getting Kingdra, so you can’t rely on leveling up for this evolution.

You can buy the Dragon Scale at the School Store in Blueberry Academy for 250 BP.

The Dragon Scale item can also be found in a Pokéball in the Coastal Biome of Terarium. Head to the bridge that connects the Coastal Rest Area and the Coastal Plaza. Before crossing over to the Coastal Plaza, to the left of the bridge is the Pokéball containing the Dragon Scale.

Use the Item Printer

The Dragon Scale can also be printed from the Item Printer at Blueberry Academy. But, because the Item Printer doesn’t let you print specific items, it can take a while to get the Dragon Scale from it. Picking it up in the Coastal Biome or purchasing it is a much more guaranteed way of getting it.

Now that you have the Dragon Scale, go into your bag and give the item to your Seadra for them to hold. You unfortunately can’t use the item on them to make Seadra evolve, so just give it to them.

Now, all that you have left to do is trade them. Your best bet is to trade with a friend, so you can guarantee that you’ll get your newly evolved Kingdra back. However, you can trade with other players looking to evolve their Seadra into a Kingdra. The Pokémon will evolve as soon as you trade it, so once you’ve completed this step, you’ve fully evolved your Horsea into Kingdra.

That’s everything you need to know about evolving Horsea into Pokémon Indigo Disk. Be sure to check out how to evolve Milcery into Alcremie and how to evolve Inkay into Malamar if you need help evolving other Pokémon in the DLC for Scarlet and Violet.
