What is the Pokemon Go Plus?

The Pokemon Go Plus is a small device that you can wear on your wrist created by Nintendo and Niantic that connects to your phone via Bluetooth. Once connected, it can be used with Pokémon Go to perform the following functions:

  • Catch Pokemon
  • Get items from Pokéstops

Let’s break these functions down a bit more. When it comes to catching Pokémon, the Pokemon Go Plus device will send out vibrations and flash green when a Pokémon is nearby. With the single click of a button, the device will use Poké Balls to catch the Pokemon. It will not use Great Balls or Ultra Balls to catch Pokémon. If you run out of Pokeballs, you will be notified by the accessory.

The second function of the Pokemon Go Plus is to collect items from Pokestops. When you are near a Pokéstop, the device will vibrate and flash blue. Pressing the button will spin the Pokestop. All items from the stop will be automatically collected and placed in your inventory.

The second device created by Nintendo is the Pokemon Go Plus+. This item, while similar to the original has some key changes. For starters, you can activate auto-catch and auto-spin. This will automatically catch Pokemon and spin Pokestops for you as you walk. Keep in mind, that you do need to have Poke Balls for the catch feature to work.

The battery life of this device has been upgraded and has light indicators that shine green, yellow, and red to display the amount of battery left.
