Need to know how to Merge Accounts and retain your unlocks in Overwatch 2

With Overwatch 2 fully replacing Overwatch 1 shortly before launch, many players have been wondering what will happen to their progression, stats, achievements, and unlocks, particularly when playing on different platforms. With players putting potentially thousands of hours into the original game, it was feared that Blizzard would reset players’ progress to zero and not enable cross-progression.

Thankfully, those fears have proven unfounded. Overwatch 1 unlocks can be ported into Overwatch 2, allowing players to continue using all the rewards they’ve unlocked over the years, even when switching from Xbox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or Nintendo Switch to PC or vice versa. All players need to do is merge accounts instead of creating a new account. That being said, this process isn’t completely straightforward, and players will want to be absolutely sure that they get it right.

We’ll show you how to merge your Overwatch accounts and keep your Overwatch 1 progress right here.
