Overwatch 2 Season 6 brings with it a whole new PvP game mode in the form of Flashpoint, but you may be asking What is Flashpoint mode in Overwatch 2?

Rest assured, we’ve got the answers here, so you can dominate this new way to play as soon as it launches. It’s Overwatch 2’s first new game mode since the game originally launched back in 2022 – so it may be a little different to what you’re used to if you’ve played Overwatch 2 a lot so far.

What is Flashpoint mode in Overwatch 2?

Flashpoint will have the teams battling for control over multiple points on the map. Once a team captures one point, the game mode will unlock another point at a random location on the map. The goal is to be the first team to capture three different points. Since the locations of each control point is randomized, capturing points will be a more balanced experience for both teams.

During the Season 6 reveal livestream, game director Aaron Keller explained that the goal for Flashpoint was to make each point completely balanced and fair, rather than give the team that captures any given point the advantage.

What are the Flashpoint maps in Overwatch 2?

At Season 6’s launch, players will be able to play Flashpoint on two dedicated maps for the new mode, those are the following maps:

  • Suravasa
  • New Junk City

If any more maps get added to the mode, we’ll be sure to update this guide.
