Yes, you’ll be able to preload Overwatch 2 Season 6 onto your desired platform ahead of time. For those playing on PC, you’ll simply need to head to the Battle.net platform. Afterwards, select Overwatch 2 from your library and press on the gear icon next to the Play button. Overwatch 2 Season 6 new hero

According to Blizzard’s official Overwatch 2 roadmap, the new hero coming in Season 6 will be a support hero named Illari. While Blizzard has already introduced two new supports since the start of Overwatch 2, Kiriko and Lifeweaver, the support role still has the least amount of heroes in the game. Bringing in another support as the next Overwatch 2 hero will allow for more variety when it comes to support styles and choosing who to play.

Revealed by Blizzard as part of the official Overwatch 2 Invasion trailer, the developers have now also showcased what players can expect with the new support character. Equipped with the Solar Rifle, she can not only deal supplementary damage using her deadly ultimate skill called Captive Sun, but also heal allies consistently by placing down her Healing Pylon – a turret that blasts the nearest teammate with an HP replenishment beam.

With support characters being as squishy as they are, Illari also has a movement ability called Outburst. It serves as a movement boost depending on the direction you’re going. It can also give you added verticality if you jump while it’s active. It also has an added knockback effect, thereby preventing pesky tanks or damage types from pinning you down.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 story missions

With Season 6 of Overwatch 2 comes new content in the form of the long-awaited story missions. These will be PvE-based co-op narrative adventures with an in-depth storyline. Here, you and your friends will pick between the set heroes for each mission and fighting the rise of Null Sector, the evil organization that is wreaking havoc on multiple cities.

There will be three co-op missions, each taking place on one of three massive maps – Rio de Janeiro, Gothenburg, and Toronto. These maps will see players complete several complex objectives while battling various Omnic enemies of varying degrees of strength. The developers have confirmed two new, stronger enemy types making their way to these new story missions: the Artillery and the Stalkers.

There is also a new bonus mission available on King’s Row. It involves your team escorting a bot to save the Omnic Underworld from Null Sector.

The new co-op event missions’ stories will be coupled with cinematics to get you up to speed with Overwatch lore. It will also help you understand what’s happening in each of these cities that you’ll be fighting in. Overwatch 2’s story missions will be included in the Overwatch 2 Invasion Bundles for $15.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 hero mastery

Overwatch 2’s training modes have not had any major changes since the original Overwatch released in 2016, which is why the upcoming Overwatch 2 hero mastery mode is a big deal. Hero Mastery is a single-player game mode that consists of various training courses for select heroes. The mode is meant to help players hone their skills with each hero and have a better understanding of which heroes suit their playstyles the best – a big improvement on the already existing practice range.

These courses will contain obstacles, enemy bots, and coins for you to conquer to improve your mastery of each hero. The goal is to complete each course as fast and as efficiently as possible to increase your score.

If you already consider yourself a veteran at the game, there’s no need to worry. This mode also provides something for you to accomplish as well. The global leaderboard showcases the top performing players for each hero in the hero mastery mode. Go out there and claim the top spot.

While Blizzard will release the hero mastery mode in Season 6, the developers won’t make it available until the mid-season update, which the company has now confirmed will be dropping on September 5, 2023.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 progression system

Along with the above changes, there’s one other major update that brings a new spin on an old OW2 feature. This is the return of a player progression system. This will track your progress for individual heroes, giving you rewards such as badges and name cards depending on your hero progression. With
