Developers at NetEase Games have demonstrated their dedication to player interaction with Marvel Rivals by implementing an active feedback loop. Over ten million players have joined the game since December 2024, when it was launched globally. During the same time, devs have been working hard to incorporate player feedback, which has greatly influenced the game’s progress.
An essential means of communication, the Marvel Rivals Dev Talk blogs reveal plans for future development and upkeep. New maps like Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands and thematic environmental destruction features are discussed in these blogs, along with hero balancing modifications like adjusting Doctor Strange’s abilities or fine-tuning Groot’s tree wall mechanics.
To keep players informed about the game’s future, they also cover major changes like the addition of new Fantastic Four heroes, season resets, and rank modifications. The creators have committed to providing frequent updates to keep the community informed, so here’s when the next Dev Talk is expected to be released.
Next Marvel Rivals Dev Talk release speculation
According to Marvel Rivals devs, they plan to add a new hero to the game every six weeks, with each season lasting roughly two to three months. This means that before a major game update is pushed, you can expect the next Dev Talk blog to be released on the Marvel Rivals website as well.
The latest Dev Talk, blog 12 was released on February 14, 2025, which brought major announcements of the first mid-season update for Season 1: Eternal Night Falls. That said, you can expect the next Dev Talk on or around March 17th.
According to the latest blog, the mid-season update will be released on February 21 and will bring Human Torch and The Thing into the game. Alongside that, NetEase also announced that players will receive a half rank reset in the game with the update, but that was reverted shortly on a new Dev Talk 11 where they announced no such change will take place. However, players will be able to get a new free Human Torch skin when the update drops.
