- Standard Switch: Press X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox). This will select the defender nearest to the ball carrier. You will not be able to select specific players using this method of switching.
- Icon Switch: Tap R1 (PlayStation) or RB (Xbox). After doing so, icons will appear above each of your players, these will correspond with the buttons on your controller. Press the button that corresponds with the player you wish to control.
Most players will look to use the standard switch method for the majority of their defensive sets. The icon switch option is handy for when you can see an overload on the opposite side of the court.
