Where to Find Muspelheim Seeds in God of War Ragnarok

As part of The Crucible Favor side quest, you’ll need to find two halves of the Muspelheim seed in God of War Ragnarok. Once in your possession, these Yggdrasil seed halves can be combined to reach the lava-oozing, volcanic realm of Muspelheim and unlock a set of combat challenges and trials to test your fighting chops. You’ll also pick up new armor for Kratos and rewards for your efforts.

God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seeds Locations

First Muspelheim Seed Half Location

The first seed half can be obtained during your first visit to the dwarf realm Svartalfheim during the early part of God of War Ragnarok and you’ll likely come across it naturally during the In Service of Asgard favor.

Head to the Modvitnir’s Rig in the southwest of the Bay of Bounty. Dock at the mining rig beach, fight the Wretches, and continue upward towards the rig. Climb the ledge ahead, then take a right up a wooden structure. Once at the top, throw your axe at the seal, jump over the gap, and climb up to the platform above. At the top is another bunch of Wretches. Take care of them and loot the Legendary chest containing the first half of the Muspelheim seed. Doing so starts The Crucible Favor.

Second Muspelheim Seed Half Location

The second half of the seed is located in Alberich Hollow, in the east of the Bay of Bounty, Svartalfheim. Note that you won’t be able to reach Alberich Hollow until you’ve picked up a certain tool later in the game that lets you interact with wind notches. It’s likely you won’t access Alberich Hollow until your second or third visit to Svartalfheim for that reason.

To reach Alberich Hollow and the second Muspelheim seed, head to Dragon Beach, in the east of the Bay of Bounty, Svartalfheim. To the left of the Nornir chest is a chain. Climb up and throw the Draupnir spear at the gust of air on the wooden frame. Head up and across to the bridge, then head left towards the large stone statue to enter Alberich Hollow. At the statue, take a left into a cave. Here you’ll get access to fire bombs. Use one to destroy the rubble debris concealing the Legendary chest ahead. Loot the chest to pick up the second half of the Muspelheim seed.

Once you have both seed pieces, visit any God of War Ragnarok mystic gateway and you’ll be able to travel to Muspelheim and take on The Crucible trials.

To unlock Muspelheim in God of War Ragnarok, you’ll need to find two halves of the Muspelheim seed, both of which are located in Legendary Chests in Svatalfheim. The first is at Modvitnir’s Rig in the Bay of Bounty, and the second is in Alberich Hollow, also in the Bay of Bounty.
