Type of Monster Hunter Quests
There are 2 primary types of quests you can complete in Monster Hunter Rise. They are as follows:
- Village Quests that you can only complete in single-player mode. These are given by Hinoa and are generally easier to complete.
- Hub Quests that you can attempt in both single-player and multiplayer. Minoto gives these quests, and their difficulty scales with the number of players involved. They are generally quite challenging.
Hub Quest Lobbies
Before diving into a quest, you must create or join a lobby with your friends or random players. To do this, you need to initiate multiplayer mode. Luckily both of these are quite straightforward processes.
Note that multiplayer quests can only have a maximum of 4 players.
Create Your Own Lobby
To create a lobby for your friends, just follow these steps:
- Speak to the cat Senri the Mailman found next to Hinoa.
- Choose to Play Online and Create a Lobby
- Customize your lobby to your requirements.
- Set up a password if you only want your friends to join.
- Share the lobby ID and password with your friends and have them join.
Join An Existing Lobby
You can also join an existing lobby made by your friends or a random
- Speak to the cat Senri the Mailman found next to Hinoa.
- Pick Search By Lobby ID and enter your friend’s lobby ID and password to join.
- Another method to join your friends is by using the Friend’s List option when talking to Senri. It is quicker and will allow you to see all lobbies owned by friends.
- Alternatively, choose Find Lobby and join up with random players.
You can also leave the lobby and return to the single-player mode by talking to Senri and choosing the Leave Lobby option.
Joining A Hub Quest
Now that you have your lobby set up or joined, let’s get started on our Hub Quests.
Joining A Lobby Member’s Quest
To start a quest with an already prepared lobby, follow these steps:
- One of your lobby members must post the quest. Do this by talking to Minoto and choosing a Hub quest.
- The rest of your team can join it from the Quest Board to the right of Minoto.
- Press the ready button when the quest taker starts it.
- If you’re late to a quest, you can still join it through the Quest Board.
Requesting Players To Join You
If you’re in a pinch and desperately need people to aid you in a quest, you just have to put up a job posting.
Open the menu and head to the Quests tab. From here, simply click on the Join Request option. This will make your quest available to other players.
Joining Other Players
Alternatively, you can respond to other players’ requests by bringing up the Quest board and choosing a lobby with an open spot.
