Storm is a great choice if you want a damage dealer who can buff allies in Marvel Rivals. With movement and attack damage buffs for nearby players, she can change the tide of battle with the right abilities. Pair that with one of the best ultimates in the game and you can see why you’re bound to encounter her in most matches. Here’s what you need to know about her abilities and the optimal way to play as her against enemies.
Storm abilities
Storm is a powerful Duelist hero who relies on wind-based attacks and lightning to deal damage. In addition to being able to float at a desired height, her AoE support skills can let your foes move faster or deal more damage. The former is particularly helpful while starting a match or when you’re near an objective. Here are all the abilities she can use in NetEase Games’ 6v6 hero shooter:
Abilities | Description |
---|---|
Wind Blade (LMB) | Launch forward piercing wind attacks. |
Bolt Rush (RMB) | Unleash a lightning bolt forward on an opponent. |
Goddess Boost (E) | Channel the weather to empower Storm. Tornado grants a Movement Boost. Thunder offers a Damage Boost and summons lightning to inflict damage. |
Weather Boost (L-Shift) | Switch the weather to empower allies. Tornado grants a Movement Boost while Thunder gives allies a Damage Boost. |
Omega Hurricane (Q) | Transform into a hurricane to draw in nearby enemies and deal AoE damage. |
How to play as Storm effectively
Here’s how you can make the most of Storm in the game:
- Use Storm’s ability to hover like Iron Man if you want a good vantage point to scan the battlefield for weakened foes. Break away terrain if it gets in the way of your attacks. But remember that you’ll be an easy mark for accurate foes like Hela and the Punisher.
- Like Scarlet Witch, this Duelist can alternate between her standard Wind Blade and Bolt Rush attacks to maximise her damage output. Remember that the latter runs on a short cooldown. This will let you deplete health bars at a fast rate. Wind Blades can be slow over long distances so lead your shots a bit to ensure that they deal damage.
- Remember to stay around allies while using Weather Control to buff their movement or attack power. And if you want to buff yourself, remember to time your Goddess Boost accordingly. This will let you get an attack or movement boost right when you need it. Pairing it with Bolt Rush is particularly powerful. For instance, you can follow retreating Strategist foes and finish them off this way, Alternatively, she can lower the health of a Vanguard opponent for an ally to finish them off.
- She is one of the few characters without any team up buffs. While that might sound disappointing, her standard support abilities already make her a great support pick.
- Omega Hurricane is a very powerful ultimate which can also be targeted on foes. You can use this to deal massive damage in a small circle, letting you aim at multiple opponents.
- Storm doesn’t have any defensive abilities. So rely on Hulk or Magneto’s shields to sustain damage from enemy Duelists. Magik and Black Panther are annoying foes once they get close enough to land their melee attacks.
- As a DPS character, rely on healers like Rocket Raccoon and Adam Warlock to get back in fighting shape after a tough fight.
