Bandits swiping your hard-come-by resources is one of the many challenges you’ll have to deal with in Manor Lords. They are silent and invisible, too, as they go about their thievery, often making a beeline for your most in-demand resources and goods, making a nuisance of themselves in your growing settlement. They’ll keep visiting at regular intervals throughout a game, that is, unless you take some decisive action to put an end to their thieving ways.
We’ll walk you through how to stop bandits from stealing resources in Manor Lords. Nip their grubby business in the bud early and they’ll turn into a minor annoyance rather than the reason for your village’s early demise.
How to stop bandits stealing in Manor Lords
To stop bandits stealing in Manor Lords, you’ll need to destroy their camp and occasionally battle a small contingent of bandit units. Once their camp is no more, not only will you stop them stealing random goods from your settlement, you’ll also get to loot their spoils.
To fight bandits, you’ll need a militia. This is beyond the scope of this guide, but check out how to recruit an army for an in-depth breakdown. Rally your army then open up the map and look for small tent icons, which represent bandit camps. They’ll only pop up in zones you haven’t claimed yet, typically a couple of regions away. Select your units and instruct them to march over to the bandit camp. One common mistake is trying to rally an army near a bandit camp in a region that isn’t under your command. This won’t work. You can only rally militia in your home territory. Once that’s done, you can guide them anywhere on the Manor Lords map, including to bandits in a foreign region.
When you get in the vicinity of the camp, the bandits may meet you with a small force to take on your militia. To help push the odds in your favour, it’s worth instructing your militia to gather a good distance from the camp so that they can recoup stamina to increase their effectiveness before advancing on the position. The bandits are poorly equipped and as long as you have a militia of 12-15 units, the fight will be over quickly. Attack the camp to destroy it and see a new message pop up. Click on it and you’ll have the option to send Regional Wealth to your nearest settlement or syphon off the spoils to your own personal Treasury.
Once the camp is destroyed, the bandit raids will stop and you’ll no longer haemorrhage valuable commodities and materials. But, clearing out a single camp doesn’t put a complete end to the threat. Bandit camps will keep spawning randomly until you’ve claimed all the regions on the map. Keep an eye out for notifications advising you that a bandit camp has been spotted. Rally and destroy the camp as soon as the message pops.
