The ninth week of the NFL season is officially in the books, which means a new set of Madden 24 Team of the Week is coming soon. It was a star-studded weekend, with tons of players making their case to be included in this week’s set. Here’s who Madden believes deserved the highest honor this time around.
Madden 24 TOTW 9 Cards
Offensive Player of the Week – 91 OVR
Joshua Dobbs was the backup, but he came in for the Minnesota Vikings after an injury. All he did was win the game with a last-second touchdown, throw for two touchdowns, and run for one more. He deserves a MUT card this week. He hadn’t really practiced and did not even know his receivers’ full names. It was an impressive showing.
Defensive Player of the Week – 91 OVR
Kenny Moore II had not one, but two pick sixes on Sunday. The Indianapolis Colts cornerback took in two errant throws by Bryce Young and returned them for 49 yards and 66 yards, scoring two TDs. If that was all he did, he would have earned a TOTW card, but he also added eight tackles, two pass breakups, and one stuff.
Limited Editions (LTDs) – 90 OVR
Michael Thomas gets a LTD card this week. Given the fact that he didn’t record a catch over the weekend, this is a past performance limited, and one that’s deserved. Before injuries set in, Thomas was one of the best. Maxx Crosby had a day for the Las Vegas Raiders. The defensive end showed out with three sacks, eight tackles, and a stuff in a dominant victory over the New York Giants.
Heroes – 88 OVR
On defense, Paulson Adebo starred for the New Orleans Saints. The CB had two interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, seven tackles, and three passes defensed. On offense, HB Aaron Jones was exceptional for the Green Bay Packers. He scored a touchdown in a dominant effort for a big win.
High Elites – 84 OVR
Diontae Johnson caught his first touchdown since the end of the 2021 season, so of course he earned a card this week. Not only that, but he was the leading receiver in catches and yards for the entire game on Thursday Night Football, so he did well. On defense, defensive tackle Shelby Harris earned a card after a tremendous effort for the Denver Broncos.
Golds – 82 OVR
Bryan Cook grabbed a lateral from another Kansas City Chiefs defensive back and ran it back for a score. In a seven-point win, that play proved to be monumental. Dare Ogunbowale earns a kicker card for the Houston Texans. If you check, he’s on their roster as a running back. However, thanks to injury, he kicked a field goal Sunday. In a two-point victory, that looms large.
That’s who made it this week, but anyone who dpes well on Thursday, Sunday, or even Monday Night Football could end up with a nice EA Sports card when they release the next set. They can be an RE, LOLB, TE, or any position on the field. Will someone from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, or Buffalo Bills make it this week?
