Getting fertilizer

  • Fertilizer is primarily used to create farms to grow crops in your village
  • You can collect it on the ground near animals, and speed up production by feeding them
  • Tame some animals and keep them fed to have a steady supply at your village

Fertilizer is one of the most useful resources in Lego Fortnite. However, finding a steady supply is much easier said than done, which can make farming feel like a waste of time. Luckily, fertilizer is actually a pretty easy resource to find, if you know where to look, and in this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to get fertilizer in Lego Fortnite.

How to collect fertilizer

In Lego Fortnite, the only way to get fertilizer is to find a group of animals and harvest their droppings. As such, the first thing you need to do is actually find a group of animals. The most common place for herds to spawn is in grassy biomes, generally on flatter areas away from mountains, trees and other points of interest.

Once you find a herd, all you need to do is walk around the animals until they start to release some droppings. From here, you can pick them up with your action button, and just like that, you’ll have collected some fertilizer. Alternatively, now that you can tame animals, you can have a bunch of them around your village and simply collect their leavings there.

This method is incredibly easy, but it can be extremely slow as the drop rate for droppings is random. If you’d rather not wait, you can actually speed up this process by feeding the animals some food, which increases the chance that they’ll poop.

What is fertilizer?

To put it delicately, fertilizer is collectable animal waste that you can pick up and use to create farmland. It looks very similar to a poop emoji but can be hard to see when hidden in grass.

Fertilizer is primarily used for building farms in Lego Fortnite. To build a farm, you simply need one fertilizer and two soil, which you can grab by digging up any patch of grass. These farms will allow you to grow your own fruit and vegetables from scratch, helping you to build a self-sustaining base.

How to feed animals

Feeding an animal is really easy. Simply stand next to the animal that you’d like to feed, open your inventory and drop the food that you want to feed them. This will cause the animal to eat the food, and hopefully, speed up their digestive process. Animals like any kind of fruit and vegetable, as well as vines, but won’t eat meat.

Once more, you can make things easier by taming animals. Then, you can simply head to the barn where the animal you want to feed is housed, and place some food into the menu. They’ll eat through it over time and leave plenty of fertilizer around for you to pick up.

As you can see, figuring out how to get fertilizer in Lego Fortnite is actually very simple. In fact, fertilizer is probably one of the easiest items to collect in Lego Fortnite. As long as you have enough food to spare, it’s also incredibly quick to obtain.
