Last Epoch max skill level explained
The max skill level in Last Epoch is 20. Each skill can have a maximum of 20 points put into it to increase its abilities using the various nodes in its tree. By the time you reach level 50, you will be able to master five different skills. This corresponds to the five skills you can have on your hotbar.
Each time a skill gains a level, you gain one point to put towards one of the nodes within the skill’s ability tree. To change mastered skills, you simply need to put a new skill in place of an existing one. When this is done, the new skill will be set to the minimum skill level that you currently have.
Minimum skill level
Along with there being a max skill level, there is also a minimum skill level. This is the minimum level that any of your mastered skills can be. The minimum level increases as you level up and can master more skills. When you start mastering a new skill, the minimum skill level is used to start your progression.
You can respec a chosen skill at any time by going into the skill’s mastery menu and pressing the respec button in the upper right corner of the menu. When you select this, you have two options:
- Remove Skills Points – This removes all the skill points from the chosen skill, allowing you to choose new nodes. This also reduces the skill level by 1.
- Despecialize Skill – This removes all the skill points and experience from the skill, allowing you to replace it. When you do this, the experience is gone from the skill and you will need to gain experience with the skill all over again if you decide to specialize in it once more.
