Genshin Impact’s 3.3 event Across The Wilderness has sent players sprawling across various locations in Teyvat in a frenzy to hunt down all the Wilderness Balloons. The event itself is a parkour-fueled frenzy, with players racing against the clock to clear various stages while equipped with the Wilderness Compass and all its abilities. Not only is it fun, but it’s also quite rewarding, so players should look to complete the event fully!

How to Unlock Across The Wilderness
Unlocking the event requires the players first to fulfill some basic criteria. Players must meet the following requirements:
- Adventurer Rank 20 and above
- Complete the Archon Quest “Prologue Act III – Song of the Dragon and Freedom”
If you have these conditions met, then all you have to do is talk to Vinkel, who will be hanging around the Teleporter near the center of Mondstadt, and she will brief you on the premise of the event.
After this, equip the Wilderness Compass from your inventory, and you can start challenging the various challenge stages available, starting from the one right next to Vinkel.

What is the Objective of the Across The Wilderness Event
The objective of the event is to collect Wilderness Balloons scattered all across Teyvat. There will be a total of 5 stages, with each stage having players collect up to 40 Wilderness Balloons within the given time limit. Event Stages
There are a total of 5 stages that currently appear on the event menu, with a new one being unlocked every day, and you will have to go to the stage location for each of them. The locations so far have been Mondstadt, The Crux, and Port Ormos in Sumeru.
Wilderness Balloon Types
There are currently 2 types of Wilderness Balloons with both of them counting towards your overall collection number.
- Harvest Balloons
- Solar Balloons

Harvest Balloons will be more plentiful per stage, whereas Solar Balloons will provide players with another short time trial challenge within the stage.
Some of these can be quite difficult, so it might take players multiple attempts to clear a stage fully. Wilderness Compass Skills
Before you begin your attempt, you can configure your Wilderness Compass’s powerup and pick an ability out of a currently available total of 4. More abilities may be added as the event goes on.
Each of these abilities provide you with a unique buff that can be useful depending on the stage. So, pick the skill you choose wisely according to the Balloon course you are trying to clear.

Charging Skills
Although each skill has its own charge time, they all charge using the same method. Players can collect the glowing yellow orbs scattered all across the stage to quickly charge up their Wilderness Compass’s abilities. These orbs will respawn, so make sure to collect them in whatever path you choose to follow, as they can make your clear a lot easier.
Best Characters
Since your skillset is not limited in this event, there will be many characters who will have the upper hand when it comes to tackling the various stages. Most of these characters have abilities that allow them to gain elevation quickly or can improve their aerial maneuverability.

- Try using characters with high mobility skills, but if you can’t do that, then Leapbless is a great Wilderness Compass skill to have, as it drastically increases your mobility.
- After a certain time period has passed, the game will automatically mark uncollected Balloons, so be on the lookout for them.
- Make sure to actively use your Wilderness Compass skills, as they are quite handy!
- If you are struggling, just attempt the stages with other players, as this can make it easier and a lot more fun.
