Honkai Star Rail update 1.4 preload is now live, letting you download the key files ahead of the release of the latest patch. Patch 1.4 of Honkai brings the game to PS5 consoles, as well as new characters and content to dive into.
Honkai Star Rail 1.4 preload is on Android, iOS, and PC ahead of the official release on Wednesday, October 11. The update, which is called Jolted Awake from a Winter Dream, is a huge one for Honkai Star Rail since it also marks the official release of the game on PS5 consoles.

Honkai Star Rail 1.4 preload date and size
Honkai Star Rail 1.4 preload went live on October 9, and the size will vary based on your platform. HoYoverse confirmed the start of the pre-load in this blog post. Mobile devices are looking at around 6 GB for iOS and Android, while the PC version is a bit more at 9 GB. It should be noted that if you have additional voices other than English downloaded, your pre-install will be bigger due to having more assets. Preinstallation is not available on PS5, so you will have to wait until the release to download patch 1.4. We’ve put together this handy table to clearly display the download sizes for each platform.

How to pre-install Honkai Star Rail updates
To pre-install Honkai Star Rail, all you need to do is select the option in the launcher or the game menu. If you’re on mobile, you can do this before you log into the game. Once you’ve selected your server and see the screen that says ‘tap to start’, you will notice a box in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Tap on the box that says “Resource pre-download” and then tap confirm to begin preloading the files for Honkai 1.4. If you do this on a PC, you will see the option to pre-install when you boot up the Honkai Star Rail launcher. Click on the option and the download will begin, making it easier for you to download the rest of the files when Honkai 1.4 releases.
