Does Helldivers 2 have microtransactions

Yes, as with most live-service titles, Helldivers 2 does have microtransactions. There are several things that can be purchased in-game using Super Credits. Super Credits are a form of in-game currency that must be purchased using real-world money. Currently, there are four different bundles of Super Credits that can be purchased. These are:

  • 150 Super Credits – $1.99
  • 375 Super Credits – $4.99
  • 1000 Super Credits – $9.99
  • 2100 Super Credits – $19.99

The most notable examples of things which can be purchased with Super Credits are Premium Warbonds and items from the in-game store, such as outfits and cosmetics which can be found in the Superstore menu. Premium Warbonds require a Premium Warbonds Pass, costing 1000 Super Credits or $9.99. Like the standard Warbonds, you still need to play the game to gain the Medals to spend on items from here. This essentially means that you get two different battle passes simultaneously.

Prepare for a grind

Unlike many battle passes, you can’t pay to skip your way through the Warbonds in Helldivers 2. The only way to progress is to earn and spend your Medals.

The developers made it clear that, while there are microtransactions, they don’t want to force players to pay extra money, with Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt remarking on X (formerly Twitter), ‘”You have to earn the right to monetize” – I truly believe that. If people want to support this title they have an option, but we are never forcing anyone to do so.’ While there is no Helldivers 2 campaign, you’ll still need to clear missions to farm Medals in Helldivers 2.
