The Sickle is one of the more interesting weapons in Helldivers 2. This energy-based weapon has a lower damage number but an extremely fast fire rate. A nice bonus of this weapon is that it comes with an energy pack that you can overheat. If you don’t overheat it, the ammo lasts very long. With that being said, is this weapon worth taking with you into battle? Is the LAS-16 Sickle worth unlocking in Helldivers 2?

Helldivers 2 LAS-16 Sickle

The LAS-16 Sickle in Helldivers 2 is an energy-based weapon that deals fairly low damage but makes up for it with a fast fire rate and great accuracy. Like other energy weapons, it comes with a charge pack that means it will overheat if you’re using it too much, so you should make sure you’ve got a decent backup weapon in case yours is on the verge of overheating.

Should you unlock the LAS-16 Sickle?

Simply put, you should unlock the LAS-16 Sickle. It is the perfect weapon for quickly taking down hordes of small enemies thanks to its rapid-fire rate. If you come up against a swarm of enemies, you can quickly help take down the majority of them, and then wait for your weapon to cool down between fights.

A Popular Return

The LAS-16 Sickle was a fan favourite weapon in the first Helldivers game, so fans of the first will undoubtedly be over the moon to see it finally make its way into the sequel.

While it can deal decent damage against Spitters or Chargers, especially if you aim at their weak points, it naturally won’t be as good as something with a little more power. So if you have great aim and trust yourself to hit weak spots, it’s a great choice in all situations, but if your aim is inconsistent, then you may want to have a stronger weapon as backup.

We probably wouldn’t recommend that an entire squad all run this weapon, as it’s good to have some variety, and having someone dedicated to using stronger weapons might be a good plan. But that being said, you can’t go wrong with the LAS-16 Sickle and we think it’s one of the best primary weapons around right now.
