While defeating Chronos is certainly a triumph, it’s really only the start, and there’s plenty more work involved before the Hades 2 true ending. Aside from the Titan of Time, there are a few other pesky gods to conquer, along with incantations and other tasks to accomplish.
We’ll help you navigate the complex steps required to experience the true ending of Melinoë’s journey. It will be a tough battle, but it will be worth it to experience the final cutscenes and the true Hades 2 ending.
- To get the true ending in Hades 2, you will need to defeat both Chronos in the Underworld and Typhon on the Surface.
- Cast Permeation of Witching Wards, Unraveling a Fateful Bond, Disintegration of Monstrosity, and Dissolution of Time Incantations.
- Defeat Chronos once more to get the true ending.
Defeat Chronos

First things first, you will need to kill Chronos. To reach Chronos, you’ll need to clear Erebus, Oceanus, the Fields of Mourning, and Tartarus. To clear each area, you will need to fight the Guardians at the end of each.
This in itself is a lengthy task. Be prepared to die a lot. Luckily, that isn’t a bad thing, as it allows you to get resources and upgrades to unlock new Keepsakes and Weapons that will make future runs easier. Once you’ve found a good rhythm and found your preferred boons and build to take on the journey, it’ll be easier to reach Chronos repeatedly.
Be prepared for a challenge when it comes to killing Chronos, as he can manipulate time to make the battle more difficult and swing it in his favor.
Chronos drops Z-Sand, which is a resource used to cast the Dissolution of Time Incantation. To defeat Chronos for good, you will need to collect five Zodiac Sand (Z-Sand) for the incantation, which you can then cast to rid the world of CDEhronos for good.
Cast the Permeation of Witching-Wards Incantation

The Permeation of Witching-Wards is the first of two incantations that you need to cast to access and then explore the Surface without dying within a couple of minutes. To access this incantation, you need to meet several Olympus deities, including Hermes specifically. This should be relatively easy, but it can be time-consuming as the encounters are randomized.
Cast the Unraveling a Fateful Bond Incantation

To survive on the Surface, you will need to collect Bronze for the Unraveling a Fateful Bond Incantation. However, this is found above ground, making it a particularly difficult resource to obtain, given that Melinoë’s curse means she sustains damage just by being there. However, you should gather enough across a few runs before dying.
To cast Unraveling a Fateful Bond Incantation, follow these steps:
- Cast the Fated Intervention Incantation.
- Talk to Moros at the Crossroads after failing a run.
- Look at the Fated List of Minor Prophecies that Moros has given you at the Crossroads.
- Once you have the materials, cast the Doomed Beckoning Incantation, asking Moros to return.
- Die on the Surface because of Melinoë’s curse.
- Speak with Moros again to receive the Unraveling of a Fateful Bond Incantation.
To cast the Unraveling of a Fateful Bond Incantation, you will need the following ingredients:
- x2 Thalamus (obtained from Origin Seeds planted in the Crossroads garden)
- x2 Moss (found in the City of Ephyra on the Surface)
- x2 Lotus (found in Oceanus in the Underworld)
- x2 Nightshade (obtained from Nightshade Seeds grown in the Crossroads garden)
Defeat Typhon
To reach Typhon in Hades 2, you’ll have to reach the top of Mount Olympus on the Surface by getting through the City of Ephyra, the Rift of Thessaly, Mount Olympus, and, finally, the Summit.
As in the Underworld, each area has a Guardian boss that you’ll need to defeat to reach the next, culminating with Typhon at the Summit. Typhon is just as challenging as Chronos, so make sure that you are prepared for a tough fight.
Cast the Disintegration of Monstrosity and Dissolution of Time

Like Chronos, defeating Typhon once won’t be enough to defeat him for good. You’ll need to best the monster once to unlock the Disintegration of Monstrosity Incantation, which will let you defeat Typhon for good. To cast this incantation, you need the following materials:
- x1 Gigaros (obtained after defeating Chronos six times)
- x4 Void Lens (obtained by defeating Typhon)
- x1 Zodiac Sand (obtained by defeating Chronos)
Cast the Disintegration of Monstrosity Incantation, then make your way to Typhon on the Surface and defeat the Guardian again to obtain Entropy. Once back at the crossroads, cast the Dissolution of Time incantation, which requires:
- x5 Zodiac Sand (obtained by defeating Chronos)
- X1 Entropy (obtained by defeating Typhon after casting the Disintegration of Monstrosity Incantation)
Head to the Underworld and make your way to Chronos and defeat him to unlock the Hades 2 true ending.
