- You can get Driftwood in the Rift of Thessaly biome on the surface.
- To get to the surface, brew the Permeation of Witching-Wards and Unraveling a Fateful Bond incantations.
- It’s used to craft the Aspect of Eos Aspect and the Rush of Fresh Air incantation.
Driftwood is a late-game reagent, essential for incantations and weapon aspects. These upgrades will help make your runs on the surface and the underground a breeze. Aspects in particular can reshape end-game builds. But it can be notoriously difficult to track down and involves chain together successive runs to farm the resource.
Where to find Driftwood in Hades 2
You can find Driftwood in the Rift of Thessaly, the second surface region on your path to Olympus in Hades 2. It doesn’t need a special tool like the Crescent Pick or the Silver Spade. Once you cross the City of Ephyra, you’ll have to beat the boss Polyphemus to proceed. There’s a pier after that which will transition Melinoe into a series of ship battles. You can find Driftwood on the ship deck but also on Circe’s island, one of the possible locations in the Rift of Thessaly (look out for the winged golden hands symbol).
To reach the surface, you’ll need to break the seal on the gateway and remove the health-draining curse. For the first part, you’ll need the Permeation of Witching-Wards incantation, which requires x1 Cinder, x1 Shadow, and x3 Moly. Cinder is a reward for beating Hecate, Shadow is concocted with the Shadow Extraction recipe, and Moly is found in the Erebus region of the underworld. Creating one Shadow costs x30 Ash, x30 Psyche, and x3 Fate Fabrics.
As for surviving on the surface against Melinoe’s health drain, you’ll need the Unraveling a Fateful Bond incantation, brewed at Hecate’s cauldron. This costs x2 Lotus, x2 Moss, x2 Nightshade, and x2 Thalamus. You can get Lotus in the Oceanus’ region, Nightshade seeds from dig spots in Erebus, Moss from quick trips to the surface, and Thalamus from Chaos’ Origin Seeds.
