Dreaded Tail is a material used in weapon enhancement and Awakenings in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. As with all monster materials, you will have your work cut out for you to farm Dreaded Tail.

As one of the rarer boss drops in Granblue Relink, the Dreaded Tail can be a pain to farm. With low drop rates and only one way to get it from the boss, you are at the mercy of RNG.

If you want to find Dreaded Tail for your weapon uncapping or Awakening Ascension Weapons, you will need to grind the Maniac quest Saga illustrated: Hellfire. You will need to beat Vulkan Bolla to be in for a chance to get it. This quest only unlocks as you continue to clear through Maniac difficulty missions at the Quest Counter.

Dreaded Tail can only be farmed from the Saga Illustrated: Hellfire quest, but simply beating Vulkan Bolla isn’t enough. As a Drop item, this means you have a chance to get it from the treasure chests that you open when you clear the mission. Due to this, you are at the mercy of the RNG to determine whether or not you’ll get it.

If you want to tackle the quest, we recommend having over 9,000 PWR to comfortably win this fight and bringing Water characters to exploit Vulkan’s weakness. If you find it to be too much of a challenge, you can farm MSP and EXP with ease.

As mentioned, there is no surefire way to get the item when farming this quest. I have had plenty from doing the quest, but it is simply a matter of RNG. There might be a higher chance to get an extra from the rewards if you get an S+ rating, but it isn’t confirmed. As you might’ve found when trying to farm Vitality Hoof, the drop rates for these boss materials are painful at best.

Where to buy Dreaded Tail in Granblue Fantasy: Relink

If you’re absolutely sick of farming the quest, you can trade for Dreaded Tail with Siero after you beat the Saga Illustrated: Hellfire quest for the first time. You will have to spend your Gold Dalia Badges on this, so we generally don’t think it’s worth it.

Weighing up the cost of them vs how hard Dalia Badges are to come by makes me think it’s not worth spending it. If you just need one and keep getting bad luck on the quest, then go for it. Otherwise, you should become stronger and the fight will be over faster each time.

That’s it for how to farm Dreaded Tail in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. For more, read our guides covering the best builds for Cagliostro and all current cheats in Relink.
