Epic Games have never shied away from adding wacky and powerful melee weapons to Fortnite, and this Season is no exception with the Nitro Fists making their debut. Taking the form of a pair of hefty metal gauntlets, these fists are sure to be the scourge of players everywhere throughout Season 3.

What are Nitro Fists in Fortnite?
Nitro Fists are a pair of large, metal gloves that are used as a melee weapon. They have three different attack types, being a three-punch combo, an uppercut and an aerial punch. The Nitro Fists have four charges, with one charge recharging every eight seconds. The three-punch combo requires no charges, while the uppercut and aerial attack both use one.
The three-punch combo is fairly self explanatory, hitting opposing players three times. The uppercut will send you and players that you hit flying up in the air, while the aerial punch also acts as a mid-air dash as well as an attack.
While in the air, if you use the aerial attack to strike the ground instead of dashing through the air, you’ll cause a meteoric impact, dealing area of effect damage to surrounding enemies within a certain radius. It’s handy to have some Nitro here to make yourself harder to hit and protect yourself from fall damage.
How to get Nitro Fists in Fortnite
Nitro Fists can be found across the map in chests and as floor loot. You’re more likely to find it by heading to the three new named locations at the south of the map. These are Brutal Beachhead, Nitrodome, and Redline Rig.
You can also get the Mythic Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists by defeating the Megalo Don boss. In addition to this, you’ll also earn Megalo Don’s Medallion and the chance to steal his and his Wasteland Warriors’ vehicles too.
How to use Nitro Fists in Fortnite
Nitro Fists are incredibly powerful if used correctly, you just have to make sure you’re doing each attack in the right order. The best way to use them is to attack an unsuspecting player. Jump in the air, and hold left-click to charge up your aerial attack. Aim directly at them, as the area of effect impact will deal significant damage to them.
Next, you can either hold left-click to finish them off with the three-hit combo, or you can uppercut them with right-click, sending you both up in the air. If you choose to uppercut, you should use another aerial attack, aiming for where they land to deal a finishing blow.
Before you engage with a player, just make sure you have all five charges. While your three-hit combo deals a decent amount of damage, it’s not great on its own and you need to be up-close to get the most out of it. If you don’t have your charges, either wait for them to recharge or just use a different weapon for now.
