Fortnite Festival has recently been added to Fortnite, and along with that came a whole new set of emotes called Jams. These let you play a song in-game, and play along as the vocalist, guitarist, bassist or drummer.

One of the previous weekly quest requires you to jam at Restored Reels and the Slumberyard. If you don’t know where either of these locations are found, or just don’t know how to jam, we’ve put this guide together to take you through what you need to know.

How do you jam?

To jam, press the button to bring up your emote wheel. From here, scroll through the tabs at the top of the screen until you reach the Jam Loops section. This will list all of the Jam Tracks you have equipped. Don’t worry if you haven’t bought any, as all players will automatically have three Jam Tracks equipped by default.

From here, all you have to do is choose the role you want to play, shown at the centre of the emote wheel, and choose the Jam as you would normally choose an emote. This will start you playing the song – that’s all there is to it.

While you’re jamming, you’ll notice a ring will appear around you. If other players walk inside this ring and jam, they can join your song and play a different instrument in the song. You don’t need to do it with others to complete these quests, but it’s worth knowing if you’re in a group.

Restored Reels stage location

The first part of this quest requires you to jam at the Restored Reels stage. Restored Reels is a named location that can be seen near the centre of the map, just to the northwest of the lake. Head here, and you’ll see that the entire western part of the location is an ampitheatre. This is where you need to go.

Head towards where the big screen is, and you’ll see that it’s set up on a stage. All you need to do is climb up on this stage and do any jam emote. This can be using any role and using any Jam Track.

Slumberyard dancefloor location

The Slumberyard is a bit harder to find as it isn’t shown on the map. It’s located directly east of Classy Courts, on the other side of the lake. If you’re landing here directly, just keep an eye out for a fairly large building with a green roof just east of the lake.

Once you arrive at the Slumberyard, all you need to do is head inside. The ground floor of the Slumberyard is a dancefloor, covered in a variety of colourful paint. Once you’re here, just open up your emote wheel as before and perform any Jam Track to complete the quest.

Once again, remember that you can do this using any Jam Tracks, and that it doesn’t matter whether you do this as a vocalist, lead, bassist or drummer. All you need to do is perform the jam emote at these locations.

If you want to get both locations done in a single game, it might be worth heading to the air elemental shrine near the Slumberyard. You can tick the Slumberyard half off first, then use Airbending to quickly get to Restored Reels and finish off the quest there.
