How to obtain Chains of Hades in Fortnite

Chains of Hades is a Mythic item that can deal massive damage. The new Fortnite item lets you chain a couple of moves together to take enemies down. Furthermore, you can also use these chains to pull the enemy towards you, which can be handy in many situations. In a way, this item is similar to the Grapple Blade from Chapter 5 Season 1.

To find Chains of Hades, you can either open chests or defeat Hades. If you choose the first option, you should know that the item doesn’t have a 100% drop rate, so you’ll rely on your luck to obtain it. However, if you defeat Hades, he has a guaranteed drop of his chains, so we recommend this method. Besides chests, both regular and special, the item ocassionaly spawns as floor loot.

Hades resides in his domain, the Underworld, which can be found on the western side of the island. To engage him in combat, you need to interact with the statue. This will start a boss fight, and before you can obtain Chains of Hades, you will have to defeat the Olympian god and his minions.

Once you successfully defeat the boss, he will drop Chains of Hades and the Hades’ Harbinger SMG. These two weapons are fantastic to start off your match, especially when combined with the Aspect of Siphon. This medallion will restore your health whenever you eliminate an enemy, granting you a massive boost in combat. Even if you take some damage while using the Mythic item, the siphon effect will help you survive longer and win a match.
