Best movement keybinds and settings for Fortnite

Here are the best movement keybinds and settings in Fortnite:

  • Move Forward: W
  • Move Left: A
  • Move Backwards: S
  • Move Right: D
  • Jump: Space Bar
  • Crouch: Left CTRL
  • Open Map: M
  • Toggle Sprint: Off
  • Sprint by Default: On
  • Sprint Cancels Reloading: Off
  • Auto Open Doors: On

These are pretty standard shooter controls for the most part, with the biggest options being the settings. Having Sprint by Default turned on will make your movement much faster in the middle of a fight, while Auto Opening Doors will help you get in and out of buildings much more smoothly.

Here are the best combat keybinds and settings in Fortnite:

  • Fire: Left Mouse Button
  • Target: Right Mouse Button
  • Reload: R
  • Use: Mouse Wheel Down and X
  • Harvesting Tool: 1
  • Weapon Slot 1: 2
  • Weapon Slot 2: 3
  • Weapon Slot 3: 4
  • Weapon Slot 4: 5
  • Weapon Slot 5: 6
  • Toggle Inventory: Tab
  • Ping / Place Marker: Left Alt
  • Hold To Swap Pickup: On
  • Toggle Targeting: Off
  • Mark Danger When Targeting: On
  • Auto Pick Up Weapons: On
  • Preferred Item Slots: On
    • Loadout Slot 1: Assault Rifle
    • Loadout Slot 2: Shotgun
    • Loadout Slot 3: SMG
    • Loadout Slot 4: Consumable Item
    • Loadout Slot 5: Consumable Item

Like with movement, most of these settings are fairly self explanatory, with the biggest changes just being to make your life a bit easier. Moving Ping to Left Alt means you can easily ping enemies while shooting, stopping you from having to take your finger off LMB to hit the Mouse 3.

Auto Pick Up Weapons and Preferred Item Slots are also great for quick inventory management, as you aren’t always able to sit and go through your inventory, especially if you know an enemy player is nearby.
