Sometimes, scoring a goal requires a light touch, a bit of class. Other times, it requires you to blast the ball as hard as you can in the rough direction of the goal – we’re going to talk about that one. Power shots in FC 25 are made for those of us who don’t care about placement so long as we’re hitting the ball as hard as we can.
But as well as being fun, power shots can be incredibly powerful if used correctly, so we’re here to tell you how to do just that. We’ll explain how to do a power shot, as well as giving you some tips on when you should use them.
Using power shots
To use a power shot in FC 25, you need to hold down L1 + R1 (PlayStation) or LB + RB (Xbox) while you take your shot. Unlike all other shots, while you charge your shot, the camera will change slightly, and your player will wind up to take it, before unleashing a powerful shot in the direction you’re aiming. Be aware that power shots can be very inaccurate, so it’s important to get your aim right, and a good timed finish can be a great way of improving your accuracy.
Because of how long it takes to charge up a power shot, it can be easy for a defender to tackle you or get in the way to block the shot. For this reason, it’s important to only use power shots when you’ve got plenty of time to shoot. A good example of this is when your player runs in behind and is through on goal. Too close to defenders and you could get tackled, but too close to the goalkeeper and they can run out and claim it. You need to gauge how much time you have before letting loose.
For these reasons, power shots aren’t going to be the best option all the time. Sometimes, a good finesse shot or chip shot might be the better option instead, so make use of what you know.
