The rainbow flick is one of the most iconic skill moves in FC 25, and watching the ball sail over an opposing defender when you pull one off is one of the game’s great joys. But if you’re new to the game or coming back after a while, you might not know exactly how to perform a rainbow flick.
That’s why we’re here to help. We’re going to take you through all three variations of the rainbow flick to tell you what requirements you need to be able to perform one, as well as the inputs to do it in-game – let’s get into it.
Doing a rainbow flick in FC 25
Many players aren’t aware that there are actually three variations of the rainbow flick in FC 25: the simple rainbow flick, advanced rainbow flick and the flair rainbow flick. We’ll take you through each of them and how to perform them below:
How to do a simple rainbow flick
To perform a simple rainbow flick, you need to be using a player with at least 4-star skill moves. Once you’ve got that sorted, while dribbling with the ball, flick the right analogue stick back and then forward twice. So, if you’re dribbling from left to right, you would flick the right analogue stick left once, and then flick it right twice to perform a rainbow flick.
How to do an advanced rainbow flick
The advanced rainbow flick is a little harder to do, but gives you more control over the ball if you can master it. For this, you’ll need a player with 5-star skill moves, and it’ll probably take a couple of tries to get the hang of it. Like the simple rainbow flick, flick the right analogue stick back, but this time you need to hold the stick forwards to lift the ball in the air behind you. Once the ball is in the air, flick the stick forwards again to flick the ball over your shoulder.
How to do a flair rainbow flick
A flair rainbow is actually easier to pull off than an advanced rainbow flick, but will also require you to use a player with 5-star skills. While dribbling with the ball, hold R1 on PlayStation or RB on Xbox, and flick the right analogue stick backwards and then forwards once to perform the flair rainbow flick. Unfortunately, while these are easy to use, they’re not very useful as they can be very difficult to time properly during a match, often leading to you simply losing possession.
