Want to know how to get Murk in Elden Ring Nightreign? Murk is one of several currencies in Elden Ring Nightreign, which is spent to buy various items at the Small Jar Bazaar in the Roundtable Hold. Unlike Runes, which are earned for defeating enemies and bosses in Limveld, Murk is acquired a little differently, but is equally important, especially for the meta-progression that carries over between Expeditions.
Over time you’ll realise that you need an awful lot of Murk to make meaningful progress that will help make Expeditions easier to complete and Nightlords easier to beat. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get and spend Murk in Elden Ring Nightreign.
How to get Murk in Elden Ring Nighreign
To get Murk, you simply need to play through Expeditions. Regardless of whether they are completed successfully and you kill the Nightlord or they end in a premature death, you’ll earn Murk. The amount of Murk you’ll end each Expedition with varies depending on progress. For example, if you die during Day 1, don’t expect to return to the Roundtable Hold with any more than 500 Murk. Conversely, if you manage to defeat the Tricephalos Expedition, you’re looking at around 1,500 Murk.
Much like Relics, unspent Murk carries over between runs and isn’t lost on death. This is different to Runes that are used to level up your character and purchase items from vendors during Expeditions; they are lost when you die or end on Expedition. In other words, Murk remains until spent and is only available for use at the Roundtable Hold. The amount of unspent Murk is shown in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen whenever you’re at the Roundtable Hold.
How to sell Relics in exchange for Murk
Aside from earning Murk during Expeditions, you can also sell surplus Relics for Murk. To do this, visit the Relic Rites altar in the Roundtable Hold, and cycle through to the last tab called Sell. Here you can select Relics to sell. The Murk you’ll receive in return depends on the rarity of the Relic. Note that you can’t sell Relics that are currently equipped in a Relic Rite vessels, so you’ll need to unequip them first.
How to spend Murk in Elden Ring Nightreign
Murk is used to buy items from the Small Jam Bazaar at the Roundtable Hold. These items include Relics, Relic Rites vessels, gestures, and occasionally other items. There’s also the option to buy a Scenic Flatstone that will create a Relic with a randomly selected colour and effects.
Additionally, Murk is also used to buy skins and outfits for your Nightfarers from the Dresser in the Roundtable Hold. Although, this option won’t unlock until you’ve successfully completed your first two Expeditions.
The Bazaar’s stock expands as you successfully complete more and more Expeditions, so it’s worth regularly visiting and using any unspent Murk on new items, which might have uses that are immediately obvious, such as unlocking the Revenant class.
