How to get the secret ending in Elden Ring Nightreign

Defeating Heolstor the Nightlord and revelling in the satisfaction of hitting the credits suggests you’ve seen and done everything in Elden Ring Nightreign. But as is customary and almost expected at this point from a FromSoftware game, Elden Ring Nightreign has a secret ending that offers an alternative closer to your time exploring Limveld and downing Nightlords. 

As you’d expect, there’s some hoop jumping involved and only vague hints about what you need to do to obtain this different ending. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get the secret ending in Elden Ring Nightreign.

How to unlock the secret ending in Elden Ring Nightreign

• Complete chapter 7 of the Wylder Remembrance quest to get the Silver Tear
• Equip the Silver Tear in a Relic Rite vessel
• Complete the Night Aspect Expedition and defeat Heolstor the Nightlord
• Use the Silver Tear on the Nightlord’s body

First and foremost, you’ll want to successfully complete four different Expeditions and defeat any four Nightlords as any Nightfarer. This will unlock the final Night Aspect Expedition. Next, you’ll need to go through the Wylder Remembrance quest line until you complete chapter 7 and obtain a Relic called the Silver Tear. From there, head to the Relic Rites altar in the Roundtable Hold and equip the Silver Tear in one of your Wylder’s vessels and make sure that vessel is active. This is vital as you won’t be able to trigger the alternative ending without the Silver Tea equipped. Next, start a Night Aspect Expedition. There’s no need to turn on a Remembrance; just start the Expedition as you normally would. Complete the first two days in Limveld, then defeat Heolstor the Nightlord. 

Once he’s dead, touch his corpse (you’ll be facing it automatically after the fight) and opt to use the Silver Tear. This will start a unique cut scene with some pretty heavy implications and trigger the secret ending which we’ll leave you to discover for yourself.
